Just wondering.......
you surf the Terb at work?
I do. In fact, I am posting this at work.
I know I am pushing the limit but I figure this is a discussion board with an interesting topic. I know a few friend of mine do. How about you guys out there?

I do. Then again, I own my businesses so it's not very likely that I'm going to fire myself anytime soon. :)

No Way

At work we are supposed to be business use only. Since I am supposed to enforce that, I would have a hard time setting an example with Terb. Also, to the best of my knowledge, IT watches what we do, and that may be both US and Cdn. IT departments. Too risky!

I wouldn`t care about co-workers finding out. But I wouldn`t use it because of security rules.

In April, I used somebody elses computer to log in a few times. It turned out that TERB got stuck into the Search feature of Explorer`s History. You could delete files, cookies, History, the temp folder, but whenever you put a "T" into the Searh field, a dropdown menu would still appear offering "https://terb.cc", despite the fact that options were set not to save or store anything. No other letter prompted any matches.

It`s not so much that it was TERB, but I was uncomfortable about having introduced any website that insinuates intself into the browser so thoroughly. So the potential of this happening to a computer at work is what keeps me from ever visiting. These days I log in mostly through public computer terminals.

Same here. We used to have access until a while back when someone got caught abusing it. Everyone lost access unless you absolutely needed to have access for job duties, which I don't. Even when I did have access I never visited Terb on my work account. IT monitors internet usage.

On occasion I have a look on my Treo.

What search function were you using? if you were/are using msn search (accessed from the IE toolbar) you can simply highlight https://terb.cc when it appears when you put a t in the search window then simply push the delete button. least, that`s the way it works on my pc.......

If the options are set to `quick fill` on either the address window or the search window, anything you`ve looked for in the past, in a search window, will automatically appear as soon as you start typing.

Work computer, never! But sometime via my Blackberry to get contact information.

Does anyone know if the website you visited will appear on your blackberry bill? It goes directly to my finance department, so I never get to see it.

Civic, it really depends on the company and who I.T is. For example if you work for a smaller company and you're cool with the I.T. manager then it might be ok. If you're not then you should stop right away.

Bigger companies, I wouldn't even think about it. You never know if your manager (or someone above you) will be getting a memo about your activities. Just always remember that someone is watching.

Not on your bill but they can have your usage tracked including messages sent/received and web sites visited. My employer does this.

No, it wasn`t in a portal or search engine, all of those were cleared successfully. I`m talking about the Explorer`s History - when you click the History icon and get a split window, there are two buttons on top: View and Search. If you select Search, you get a small field in which to type search terms. Terb could not be cleared from this feature, even though I never used it to find Terb in the first place.
