I'm enquiring, to see how many people would be intrested in a Terb Golf tournament this summer. Along with prizes and a dinner following the Tournament, and of course there would be a fee to enter.I got the idea from Paul Waters so if you don't like the idea blame him, but if you do like the idea, I'll take the kudos.

I was thinking of a golf course not to far out of the city so it would be accessible for everyone.
Some leg work will have to be done, to get some rates, and available dates. One place i had in mind was Richmond Hill Country Club which is at Bathurst and Hwy 407. Any other suggestions.

Sounds good, maybe we can solicitate "donations" for prizes from TERB members, advertisers and other businesses that are related to the topics discussed on TERB.
First prize - $1000 cash, but you have to see at least 2 SPs and post reviews. If you don't post reviews, we beat you up with putters. :p

Golf

Do you think one of the girls would rub my balls for good luck?
It would make my putter stand up.

Not that I'm a great golfer, but Richmond Hill is quite short and a bit overpriced for what it offers. St. Andrew's Valley in Aurora is a bit further, but is very reasonably priced for a premium course and they are very friendly and accommodating towards tournaments. It would be about 10-15 minutes north of Richmond Hill. Plus it seems like they always have some real cuties at the front desk and the beer cart, which by the way comes along way more frequently than Richmond Hill, if they even have one. I'd be willing to make some inquiries if enough people are interested.

BTW, it seems like some of us are going through withdrawal and it's only January.

Great minds think alike...

Actually I thought Richmond Hill had the cuties. It does have some devilish holes that could more than frustrate the in-experienced golfers (ie. 11,12 - going into the valley & 18 -coming out of the valley). St. Andrews is a little far but definitely a challenging, yet playable course. May want to consider Silver Lakes, Rolling Hills, Ballantre(Hwy.48 & Aurora).

Keep us posted.

Slade, not a bad idea. I may like to attend. If I may suggest a location. I would think that the Uplands Golf Course would be a great location for this event. It is located at Yonge/407 area in Richmond Hill. It is cost effective and it is a 9-hole course. To play 18 would take too long and thus might be prohibative for any of the laides/gentlemen that would otherwise want to play. They are able to accommodate lunch/dinner as you would choose.

Anyone interested in other activities afterwards, there is a selection of lodging closeby (for anyone interested in indoor golf-lol), the WAGG and PRO close by as well. If you'd like more info, PM me for further details. FORE...

No doubt RH #11 is one of the best tee shots in the GTA. Silver Lakes is also very nice, but all the way up in Newmarket.
Nobleton Lakes and Deer Creek are 2 other good options. Deer Creek should be quite reasonably priced as well.

Here
Thoughts

Should we first decide whether or not this is a serious tournament, or just something to do as a group for fun? That might dictate where we play, as well as the format.

If people are committing to play, I would think 18-holes is the norm, therefore I doubt time would be an issue.

Anyone care to try a "Best Ball" or "Capt & Crew" format? This would more or less negate any handicap issues, and keep it on a much more relaxed basis. Teams of 4 could pre-enter, with doubles/singles paired up as needed.

You might get Sal or Paul or one of the strip clubs to provide ladies to serve as "caddies" (for tips of course). The possibilities are endless with enough notice.

When does it stop snowing up there? July? LOL

I'm in.

I do and will play anywhere (except goat tracks) anytime.
I played in the hooters tourney last year at Cherry Downs. Each 4some had a Hooters girl as their beer caddie. It was expensive and we were on the course forever but it was a good time.

Deer Creek in Ajax does a really good job with tournaments. They hold them on the south course which is a little easier than the north for those that are non golfers.

If we're going to do this, why not make it a chatiry event. Pick a deserving charity, charge the entrants and extra few dollars over the price of the tournament that can go to the charity. Have some raffles and door prizes or auctions with the proceeds going to the charity.

Wanting to deliver the 'goods'
I'm in

I am not a serious golfer by any means.............

I do like King Cobra's idea of making it a Charity Tournament. Charge a couple of extra bucks for entry and donate the proceeds to a worthy charity.

The only problem, as I see it, is getting a charity to agree to have their organization associated with a group of individuals who are 'involved' in an Adult Industry.......

I would suggest that some of the organizations that try to get the 'children' off the streets (under 18 street walkers) be approached. They might be more receitive to the concept that many other charitable organizations.

Failing that there are numerous organizations deddicated to the prevention of STD's as well..............
