Now...back to the topic of what's going on for an Ottawa xmas party...

Surprises

Ok - so, I got a couple of "what-if" questions about this here party thing...
What if we meet some real-life aquaintences (not too far removed from reality?) What are we going to do about explaining our terb alter-egos?

What if some SP/MPs/MAs don't get along (aka Jasmine/Taylor, etc..)?

What happens if we've used different names amongst different SP/MPs/MAs? How the hell are we going to keep that one straight especially if the providers mingle? I love to weave a tangled web (my own damn fault).

....personally, it's going to be hard for me to find the opportunity to get away and have quality time at the party (much as I want to). I wish I were single. Can I bring my unsuspecting wife & you would all claim to be from an accounting association or something?

yeah - looks like the folks in TO had one on Dec 08. Some members on here have suggested getting space at a strip joint..that's likely not going to fly with some of the ladies that work there. Just imagine, they're looking for guys to show up and get dances and guys show up and don't pay them any attention due to the other attractions.

A better idea might be to get section in a lounge, which would allow for more socializing. This way you could meet, greet and dance with the lady of your choice before perhaps extending the evening.

Maybe, it would provide some member interest. However, I have a feeling that most would like to keep this as an online activity.

the other thing we could do...

is good old fashioned pub crawl... of sorts.

Start at the Barb's catch the last hour or so of the early shift, cab it over to Pigales another hour or two, back to glue pot pub and socialize with any of ottawa's fine SP's or MA's who care to join us there ( rather than along the way ;-) ) If the socializing fizzles out you can always catch the late shift at Barb's.

This way anyone who wants to get a hotel room for the night can do so within walking distance. Although you probalby want get the hotel room at the beginning of the evening. Also no one is tempted to drink and drive.

Maybe between Chrismas and New years ?

I was thinking the same thing

I think there should be a "no camera" policy and everyone should go by their TERB handle for names.

Or we could even go one step further and everyone could choose a cartoon character name for the evening. We could choose to reveal our terb handles if desired but we could remain anonymous for at least part of the time.

There are a number of reasons someone may not want to reveal their terb handle to a crowd, for example if a co-worker walks in, you may not want them to know everything you've revealed about your activities through your terb handle.

We can make a game of trying to figure out who's who.
