TER just shut down all U.S. ad boards due to new law

TER just shut down all U.S. ad boards - reviews probably next under new U.S. Law. See my earlier post and good discussion.

Their Canada ads still open. Does not effect Canada only U.S. boards shutting down ads and probably will have to shut down review boards. Oh Canada!

Sorry for my ignorance, but what is TER?
The Erotic Review board - by far the largest review and ad board in the U.S. It is like this TERB in Canada but with very strict moderation and reviews have to be "juicy" to be accepted and ratings are based on how many unhealhty risky illegal acts are reported. Many escorts try to get fake reviews deleted often saying what they don't provide but almost impossible to get deleted.

I have a history with them since founder Elms hired a hit man to go after me for letting escorts report on his rape etc on my Private List, and he wanted to murder a Phx escort and went to prison. Phoenix police even asked my help to get escorts to charge him with rape - long story detailed deep in sexwork.com which I haven't updated for years but has all the history.

Sad stuff.

Just so I get this straight, the TER servers, which were located in the US were taken down? Or did ISP’s have to start blocking access to the site?

I mean, downloading copyrighted stuff has been illegal in the US since the days of Napster, I think, but it seems as though determined communities found a way around that type of crackdown.

I feel setting up a site on some hidden international Tor server is probably a knee jerk reaction, but where there’s a will...

Seems like a VERY dark path to move down. Let’s hope we’re given respite from any such law up here for long enough to watch what happens when Backpages is replaced by an onion marketplace governed by pure libertarian values... where women similar to those who advertise here, have ads next to those freely advertising victimization of slaves, children or whatever is worse.

It'll take a few weeks before escorts move their ads to Russian sites or sites from Australia or Western Europe where the US can't get at them.

The servers I believe are in Amsterdam and TER is trademarked to TREEHOUSE PARK, S.A. which originally was Elms home in California.

As far as I can tell TER lawyers must have told them to shut down, not any ISP.

Guys and gals are not going to TOR - that is impractical and 98.6% of folks have no idea it even exists or how to get to it.

Now that the 9th Circuit challenge to prostitution law seems dead after the loss, the outlook for decriminalization is sadly virtually dead so the massively funded anti folks seem to have run the war against private consenting adults sexwork. The latest law might be challaged on a free speech basis but this will take years to resolve and success is very uncertain.

I can’t say I’ve been on Tor either, so I’m not sure if it’s something someone as tech-unsavvy as me can even operate. However, if Twitter, TERB (and its competitors), Backpage (and its competitors), went dark and I was interested in P4P, I’m going somewhere digital where local women or agencies can advertise. If that requires me to figure out Tor, then so be it.

I don’t see the good citizens of TERB suddenly going back to Hooker Harvey’s to get their fix. But, maybe car calls are the next big thing, again.

With TER down, another site is sure to take its place. If it’s not on Tor, it’ll be somewhere else.

This is not the end of the world’s oldest profession.

Craigslist personals just shut down with this notice:

US Congress just passed HR 1865, "FOSTA", seeking to subject websites to criminal and civil liability when third parties (users) misuse online personals unlawfully.

Any tool or service can be misused. We can't take such risk without jeopardizing all our other services, so we are regretfully taking craigslist personals offline. Hopefully we can bring them back some day.

To the millions of spouses, partners, and couples who met through craigslist, we wish you every happiness!

We may see a spike in webcam models and more escorts turning to sites like manyvids for income in the USA.

The issue with TERB and EROS is that their servers may be in Europe - or so they claimed! - but the companies themselves are in the USA. (I suspect that they simply announced that their serves are off shore to alleviate any of their customers' concerns about the info being seized in an FBI raid.)

Enforcement is far more difficult for US law enforcement if both the servers and the companies are off shore - i.e. Australia where pay4sex is legal and their law enforcement would be disinterested in cooperating with US law enforcement. Prostitution is totally legal in Germany and Russia, at least - and likely several more countries.

Congress just passed a law in the USA making all online sex work advertising Illegal in that country.

Does not directly affect Canada; although there are fears that the new law might motivate Twitter to purge all SP and agency social media pages.

Agree although not sure any owners or moderators are in the U.S. I don't know ownership after Elms went to prison after going after me etc. Also TER reviews I have seen in probable cause statements for indictments but they just needed to be a member to read and act on reviews. A few years ago they fired all their U.S. moderators to make it harder to get info.

Offhand forget some of the names, but many. A few years ago I posted detailed info on some of the largest whose 990 tax forms I reviewed. All had many $millions of income and grants going to local police agencies to enforce.

In Arizona our Ms McCain (as in wife of Senator who ran for Pres) led huge group with zillions of media funding in AZ. They got new law passed in AZ making it illegal to promote and the 4 local great sexworker boards shut down.

Since then many sexworkers arrest, agencies, Phx Goddess Temple owners indicted and many went to and some still in prison on criminal enterprise charges when its more than just an individual women. Lots of sting against individual sexworkers and customers.

The religious right certainly is part of the crusaude but its not all just religious backed. Lots drawn into the support being convinced that all sexwork is forced since no women in their right mind would choose to be an escort etc. So they have to be "saved" by arresting them.

ANGLO AMERICA CONTINUES PUSHING LARGELY FICTITIOUS, ANTI-SEX “HUMAN TRAFFICKING” NARRATIVES

The Anglo-American Matrix is anxious to eliminate all forms of economic competition, and prevent people from existing outside the clutches of the matrix. One of the main ways people who don’t lick the corporate boot make good money (tax-free money, too – something government revenuers hate) is through the drug and sex trades.

Alongside the lust to eliminate other avenues for people to make a living outside the corporate-government complex, we find a dovetailing of a similar nefarious agenda in the fact the matrix is hard at work trying to screw up human sexual behavior in any way it possibly can. Ostensibly, social engineers want to get the birth rate down. But beyond that, broken human beings with shattered sex lives make excellent consumers to “sell” sex appeal back to.

For over a decade, the matrix has been trying to legally and socially conflate prostitution between two willing, consenting adults with a largely fictitious “human trafficking” narrative. Rent a whore, and you’ve just “trafficked” a woman. Even if she was willing, even if she didn’t have a pimp, and even if she likes fucking. Of course, penalties for this newly created “offense” will be blown completely out of proportion (taking it well beyond the scope of a misdemeanor, which it is in most states) just as penalties were with the Drug War. Senator Rand Paul speaks to to the related insanity of the Anglo-American Drug War:

We went crazy on the War on Drugs. We have people in jail for life for nonviolent drug crimes. I think this is a crime in and itself.
The latest push at getting the human trafficking campaign (i.e. War on Sex agenda) rolling comes out of Texas. The official line from government operatives in the Lone Star State is that “human trafficking” affects men, too. Krista Leeburg Melton with the Texas State Attorney General’s Office (the same office that enforces child support slavery and estrangement upon fathers) says:

“Human trafficking is modern day slavery. It is the exploitation of men, women, and children by third-parties for their own profit or gain.”
That line sounds good on the surface, but make no mistake a gynocentric society doesn’t give a fuck about so-called trafficking of men. The true aim is foisting another Puritan Prohibition on the populace, centered on “protecting” perfect, asexual Anglo goddesses.

This is quite simply another infamously Anglo-American moral crusade to crush the sex trade altogether, forcing men who have figured out the scam that is modern marriage and moved to save their live savings by opting for P4P back onto the gynocentric plantation. Call it a clandestine War on Sex, one that will be just as Draconian as the War on Drugs.

The matrix has to give The War on Sex an air of legitimacy before it moves in for the kill – seeking worldwide bans on prostitution. We find the oft-used Hegelian Dialectic being employed again – creating a “problem” that largely doesn’t exist (certainly not to the extent those pushing the human trafficking narrative claim) so the government can have a pretext to step in and strip yet more personal freedom away from its subjects, while simultaneously extending the financial tentacles of the matrix.
