Maybe the board needs a whole "gun violence" section - seems a lot here and in the politics section lately...
Could you imagine..... getting blown away for doing nothing more than going home? This 12 year old did nothing wrong, and for that, he's gone.....Shoot first, ask questions later.
Mine arent.....simply because i dont engage in unproductive, fictitious, ritualistic and delusional chanting (out loud nor to myself), to non-entities which cant alter the condition known as human stupidity. On the other hand...yup..kinda sadMy prayers are with that family.
It must be very lonely in your world.Mine arent.....simply because i dont engage in unproductive, fictitious, ritualistic and delusional chanting (out loud nor to myself), to non-entities which cant alter the condition known as human stupidity.
Then again he does have mirrors in his home, so maybe not.It must be very lonely in your world.

Should we understand that you do engage in unproductive, fictitious, ritualistic and delusional chanting (out loud nor to myself), to non-entities which cant alter the condition known as human stupidity -- and it saves you from being lonely? It must be very lonely in your world.
or you would have been dead had it been the actual intruderI have a bunch of guns but I will never accidentally shoot an intruder. Why? Because mine are locked up in a safe unloaded with the ammo in boxes.
By the time I got the safe open, found the magazine, opened a box of ammo, loaded the magazine, put it in the gun and racked the first round I would have figured out it is not actually a stranger breaking in.
No one can say that you don't have a firm grasp of the obvious .....err sometimes. Leaving guns accessible to teenagers is a problem. Unless you live in the country there is really no good reason to own a gun.It certainly sounds like he did not exercise proper prudence.

In view of the actual results vs the ideal, I'm not impressed. If someone likes guns, has the legal and financial means to acquire them and uses them responsibly; those are as good reasons as any.
"In view of the actual results" the majority of legal firearms owners haven't done anyone any harm. These occurrences are what statisticians call "outliers".In view of the actual results vs the ideal, I'm not impressed.
