TD ATM machines are now closed on the weekends?

If you are simply doing withdrawals, I would suggest finding a gas station near your place that has a TD ATM for future visits -- as long as its a TD ATM you would not have additional charges.

Like some others have already said

It's because a lot of homeless sleep there if they leave the door open.
TD has lots of locations where the bank machine is "outside" and therefor accessible 24/7

RBC is also locking out some ATMs which are "inside", but the outside ones are always accessible.

All the homeless ,druggies and junkies are just going to take up residence at Scotia ,Bmo &CIBC . Won’t be long until they lock their doors. Maybe it’s a push to get us to go completely cashless by making it harder to get our $ out. ?

I think it just depends on the branch. For example my closest RBC branch locks all the doors when the bank closes and the two ATM's are not available after hours.

You haven't spent much time in downtown Oshawa, have you. Lots of homeless people and many do find themselves inside the ATM area of banks in the south end along Simcoe Street especially. Even downtown Whitby is starting to attract a lot of homeless
I have not, but I'll take your word for it.

I just got back from the TD bank at Bay & Bloor and the outside machine is working

The same with Hamilton and Burlington. Burlington has an explosion of homeless
Probably because of the pandemic.
A lot of people lost their jobs or businesses permanently

I bank with CIBC and the branch near my place recently started locking their doors after 8 pm as well.

There are a couple drive-thru ATMs but that doesn't help if you're on foot.

Why can't you just walk up to the drive thru machine?

What can you expect when the homeless and drug addict epidemic are out of control? I don't blame the banks one bit.
For the record, this policy only seems to apply to banks where these populations are relatively high.

Now there's a conspiracy theory in the making. As others have mentioned, you can still go to just about any ATM during the day. You can also visit your bank during the day, 5-6 days a week or visit any of the outdoor or drive through ATMs or one located in convenience stores. Or, keep a stash of $1,000 on hand at home as emergency back up.
