Taylor Swift, what's all the hype about?

Writing songs only takes "some talent"? If it were easy, or only took a little talent to write a hit song everyone would do it.

Entertainers/performers don't write their own songs, they just sing/perform those written by others. I wouldn't confuse entertainers, with musicians who perform what they write.
Is that like being a NASCAR driver? Where all who do have talent better than us. What do you call those that really do then? Those who are so much better then the rest?

Am sorry you don’t see the difference between entertainers, and musicians who have musical talent. You almost sound hurt and defensive. Even though there’s no slight. It’s kind of saying damn you’re a good nascar driver. But that doesn’t mean you’re a good or great formula 1.
“Does it?”

These days singing only take some talent. That is why many modern artist lip synch when on stage because they sound terrible without electronic auto-tune.

I must admit I'm a little stumped myself.

I know she is a talented song writer and performer, and I understand her being famous. But she seems to have attained a type of fame that could be classified as next level. Where she is almost deified. Like Elvis level.
I'm not sure I see why. Then again, I'm not sure why Elvis got to that level either.

If you are not a Taylor Swift fan, you could sell your tickets on TERB.cc Buy & Sell Zone. There may be dozens of Terbites that have an inner teen girl inside them dying to get out. Being that some people are willing to pay $500-800 for these tickets you could get several SP sessions for the tickets.
Or maybe an SP is a Taylor Swift fan and will barter for the tickets.
That's the problem. People are selling them for sometimes double / triple the price of what they paid for them.

Also, third parties are selling them anywhere from 2500 - 7000$.

If you were lucky enough to get on ticket master during the presale tickets in the nosebleeds were going for 91.60 CND & floor seats maximum was 2500$ CND.

There are a lot of greedy people out here trying to make money off of someone that they don't even like.

Not sure where your tickets are or on what date. Sub Hub has nosebleed section for 2,800 to 3,300 each. Just think of how much fun you can have with even half of that.
Not really an endorsement but when I had tickets to sell, Stub-Hub was pretty easy to use.

Tickets have been sold but thanks for your recommendation.

I think when the time comes I might go hang out at Rogers center like someone else suggested and pick up some hot moms 🤣

I was talking about the pre sales that were going on through the verified ticket sale on ticketmaster.

You had to register through the verified fan process and IF you got a code you were accepted for the pre sale. I was lucky enough to get a code. Tickets on ticket master in the nosebleeds were going for $91.50 and they sold really fast ! Every time you clicked one it said " sorry another fan already beat you to these tickets , please try another selection."

The most expensive I seen on ticketmaster were floor seats and were around 2500$.

It has been on the news that third parties such as stubhub or seatgeek are selling these tickets for double / triple the price. Which is the main reason why ticketmaster will not allow third parties to sell taylor swift tickets on their website.

I just find it funny that it's OK to like her all of a sudden because she worked with a couple indie artists.

I have a couple of never-worn Taylor Swift tour T-shirts from Fearless, (2009), and Red, (2013). I wonder what I could get for those outside of the Rogers Centre next November.

I got them from a crack addict's pop-up flea market, so I'm 100% certain they were stolen.

Won some tickets at work and to be honest I don't really care to go. I'd be shocked if I could name 2 of her songs. I really don't see what all the hype is about.

Can anyone enlightening me on why I should go or recommend a trusted reseller site I can use? Apparently I can't use Facebook marketplace or Kijiji due to their policies. Never been in this position before so not sure how all this works.

Thanks in advance.
The current generation lacks identity or distinction in many ways compared to previous generations Including music.
Along comes a very steady, intelligent and very talented artist so the generation grabs her.

Why all the fuss?

  • She's a truly great songwriter. Nobody since Michael Jackson has come up with as many hits as Taylor.
  • She's sincere, kind and very generous. Tales of her generosity abound.
  • She's super pretty. Always helps.
  • She's been cultivating this fan base since she was 16 and has never let them down.
  • She's a good (but not great) singer.
  • She's only an ok guitarist, but she does inspire young girls to pick up the instrument.
Should you go to the show? It's objectively an excellent performance, and it would certainly be a unique experience for you to go and say
that you saw her. From the YouTube clips I've seen it's definitely worth an evening of your life.

However, music is subjective and if the whole scene just really isn't for you then, yeah, sell the tickets for thousands, why not!

I would imagine that the percentage of Black people in the audience for a Taylor Swift concert would be on par with that of an NHL game, or a subtitled European art film.
