Hi guys! Do you know where can I buy a TAG watch around here in Toronto?
It will be my first TAG. Do you guys know what is the main character you could tell that it is real TAG?

There some very good fake TAGs about, from experience, as the proud owner of a real one (TAG that is). The fakes do not stay luminous very long. Some of the fakes have a sweep second hand. To my knowledge, TAG has not produced a watch with a sweep second hand.

Just my few cents worth.

Not a big fan of Tag, I dig their vintage Monaco, vintage silvertone? and the Monaco V4 concept watch though.

I am a big fan, have three...Toronto is not the best place for price. Birks carries a pretty decent selection. Look for the better independent jewelers, they will bargain down 15 to 25% of the marked price. Beware of the smaller shops that are not registered dealers, no warranty and mix in fakes.

Enjoy.

I bought it at the Eaton Centre.....I think the store is called European Jewellers (its located on the top floor on a corner)....

There are several places to buy a TAG - La Swiss (Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Scarborough Town Ctr), Royale de Versaille (Bay & Bloor), Birks. I've purchased a few watches at La Swiss and Royale (Rolex and Breitling's) and have always paid below the marked prices - usually either in cash or debit.

La Swiss is no longer an authorized TAG dealer..... I bought a Links at Costco :) for about 700 below Birks price. But i did my Steve McQueen TAG from Birks and talked them down to 3200 from 3800.... I know European Jewellers have a fair selection and are always ready to make a deal. Also if u have ot European Jewellers are always offering a monthly payment plan. I have never looked into it but it is offered every time i am there.

Do you guys aware that if you go buy it at online retailers(in US most of them), the prices are 1000 cheaper than the stores? Is that mean that the sell the fake ones?

You actually CAN bargain with independent jewellery retailer?? I never thought this. I always thought that all the price is fixed if you buy something inside the mall.

I want to get the Carrera Chronograph one btw. If you get it online it costs between 1600-1700. But, if you get it in the store, it will cost you over 2000-2500.

why spend that kind of dough on a watch?
Some people look at it as a hobby. Some people get it for status. Some people collect them. I mean they are really really nice watch. Same thing with Rolex and etc.

What would you answer if people ask you, why spend that kind of dough on sex?

Be very careful of buying high price watchs from US Retailers on the internet.
1- You WILL be charged duty GST and PST when they ship to a Canadian address
2- Very often the original warranty is NOT valid, and is replaced by the retailer warranty. They have bought large job lots from non authorized off shore dealers and cannot pass the original warranty on.
3- The discounts look amazing, but remember, USD fluctuates (while a lot better than 2 years ago) and add back shipping, insurance, duty and taxes.
4- My best deals where either in Hong Kong from authorized, reputable dealers, or in the US the large chain jewelery stores (Bachendorf's Jewelers,Bailey Banks & Biddle). They offered 25% of sticker without even asking.

Always great deals in HK for Rolexes, Cartiers, Glashütte and almost anything in and above it's class. I heard Bombay/ Mumbai gives good discount as well, especially on Rolex, but haven't had a chance to visit there yet.
