I like new york fries! Mmmm... But if I had to choose between McD and SC - I'd choose McD.

As a former Montrealer, I can honestly say that I've tried many a fry and the two chain restaurants around Mtl that have the best fries are Lafleurs and La Belle Province.
There are a ton of Mom and Pop places that have great fries too.
Not many of the big fast food chains even come close.

I wonder if I could get a Lafleurs franchise going in Toronto. I have a feeling it would be a goldmine.

As a kid, McD's....as an adult, after having the Swiss Chalet sauce, have to go with that one. I don't like that much salt on the fries...although that's the draw to McD's fries. When I do get them from there, I ask for no salt so they have to make a fresh batch every time!!! lol.

A French Fry Sandwich is called a "Chip Butty" back home in the UK, yummee :)
...but to do it right, they have to be home made fries, fried in lard, until golden brown and crispy, then put on some fresh bread with lotsa butter and sprinkled with salt and malt vinegar.

Guess whats for dinner tonight!

McDonald's

McDonalds fries arent technically fries. They are a simulated potato-like product.

You know not of what you speak...that's a polite way of saying "Bullshit".

They're real potatoes and they make the best fries. I understand that some people think the taste has changed since they started using a different oil so that there are no transfats.

I have not noticed and McDonald's has their entire franchise invested in their fries, note, note the Big Mac, salads, or chicken.

They don't mess with their fries.

i say wendy's fries are the best
When made properly I agree Wendy's are great. Crispy outside, soft and moist inside. Problem is you only get fries like this maybe 1 out of 7 times.
