Yes, politicians should be judged by the number of likes they get on social media for useless posts instead of their policies and positions.
And then lefties are shocked when a dumbass celebrity like Trump gets elected. If you reduce politics to a circus, you will end up with clowns in office.
Exactly….
The left pisses and moans not understanding they usually created the beast they fear and whine about so much.
Also, worth considering the Pendulum in Canada. Can see it going back as far Mulroney Federally if not further. . It would seem that the further away from center or the longer it’s at one far side with idiocy and damage, the inevitable swing is hard..
Whether L or R, Canada is mostly centrist with an edge that’s slightly left. Then there are diehard Liberals/Cons who will never change, will go to the grave with their brand, and then extremist at either side of the spectrum. When it swings hard, parties get decimated. Leaving little bit dust (See Ontarios Liberals today) and no alternative……
The Liberals went through it following Chrétien/Martin too and though nowhere near as bad as that well deserved trashing of the party that barely kept status. The cons also went through it, having to remake the party and merge with reform,
fast forward to “today”, And it wasn’t until they found a clown that can’t speak without talking points and a um, a um um um moistly scripted set piece, socks hair and name for SM…plus the inevitable swing from centrist just being tired of Harper and wanting a change.
Those that don’t learn…am at least somewhat confident given the clown that can’t speak, given reducing the house and politics to a circus, given the good amount of damage/scandals, given the times and policies that see “little people” being driven to their knees…..
it’s going to swing hard.
