And how big a problem do you think that is with sex crime trials in Canada? Also you need to remember Epstein was a rich and dangerous Mossad agent. How many pedophiles can muster vast sums of money and make credible deadly threats against justice officials? And as I said, if they can, they can just get the prosecution to fumble the case until it times out. So your concern about this is not resolved by mandatory sentences.
Judging from the Epstein client list quite a few.

Dude, I can think of a shit load of father's that would happy see young Chad in jail for taking nudes of his daughter.

What planet are you on?
Yes, but would Chad's dad want to see Suzy in jail since she consented and both did the filming? Again, it's not illegal if it's two consenting minors, so both dads would be able to cry themselves to sleep and take away their kids' cell phones.

But here we are talking about a VERY SPECIFIC crime, so don't try to conflate your way out of a lost argument. As I have shown (and you can verify) the recidivism rate for this type of crime is very low and they can easily up the sentencing guild lines for repeat offenses.
I mean, we are literally talking about two guys that got mandatory sentences and you are asking me how big a problem this is. You don't even know what you are saying. 🤦‍♂️

Now they have grounds to appeal the decision and get a light sentence. Are you happy and fulfilled now?

I think you are moving the goal posts. And minors can't consent. That's the point.

Beyond that that's like saying two kids are drunk driving and hit eachother, but if the parents say it's OK no charges should be laid.

It's about community standards.

You guys are so naive it's not even funny. 🤦‍♂️

I've know people that have pulled money from family or a Home LOC to guarantee no jail time.
Oh yeah. I've been an attorney for 30 years and neither me nor my buddies have ever heard of anything like that. So I call bullshit.

They appealed successfully, but they may not get lighter sentences. Depends on the judge.

This is the difference between you and I.

You're trying to be right. I'm trying to protect children. You're disgusting.
I am trying to protect the innocent, you don't give a shit about justice. You don't give a shit that some of those caught up in injustice may have kids that will be harmed by injustice. i.e you are incapable of considering what is not in front of your face and the collateral effects. Typical conservative

What if they are taking their own pic?
The reciever should immediately contact parents to stop it. No need for police involvement unless it's a bullying/harassment issue.

Again. It's about transferring. If they never send it then it's self photo. The minute you hit send it's porn.

Teens can absolutely do this consensually and they do this all the time.
It'd be silly to say they should spend time in jail for it.
You cannot treat adults and teens the same way.
So then you think teens should send nude photos without consequences?

The double standard is amazing. I guess you think those girls who killed the homeless man deserved no time either.

The double standard is amazing.
Again, it is not a matter of whether they should, but what those "consequences" should be.
Why a nude photo was sent, who sent it and to whom it was sent to matters.
Those need to be determined in a court and the guilty party should face consequences accordingly based on the merits of the case.
Not a blanket law that sends people to prison with no regard to their intent or circumstances.
I guess you think those girls who killed the homeless man deserved no time either.
What a ridiculous strawman.
Are you saying a swarming attack and murder of a homeless man is the same as sending a nude pic?
Make it make sense.
