I think that is a bad move for Ray Ban. Some of the French and Italian luxury brand handbag manufacturers have their materials sourced and cut in China partially assembled there and then shipped to their own country where final assembly is done. This allows them to claim it is a European product and charge thousands of $$$ for each bag. What if a European manufacturer would sell their name or partner with a Chinese manufacturer to make high quality sun glasses. Even now there are hundreds of sunglass alternatives that are just as good at a lower price.
