Instead, Venkatesh estimates that 83 percent of prostitutes have a Facebook page. Moreover, he believes that by the end of 2011, Facebook "will be the leading online recruitment space." Indeed, he says, even before Craigslist beat its retreat, Facebook was becoming a happy home for many prostitutes.
With more discreet and personal access offered through cell phones, the web and Facebook in particular, he believes that prostitutes "can control their image, set their prices, and sidestep some of the pimps, madams, and other intermediaries who once took a share of the revenue."

pretty interesting study. anyone using facebook to find sp's? Twitter is another option, that i know is very popular with webcam girls and porn stars so i'm sure SP's too.

create an alias account, as i'm sure SP's have.
hotmail now offer disposable email accounts, you can create up to 5 alias accounts maximum, but you can dispose of them as you see fit to create more. http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/365011/hotmail-launches-disposable-email-addresses

Gmail you can create as many email as you wish, but they are not the disposable type as in hotmail

so no worries about pimps contacting you lol

This doesn't make sense, you'd need a category for escorts and be able to search through it. Facebook doesn't have this.
Maybe to make acquaintances and friends with SPs you already know and you might link up with others they know but it's definitely nowhere near like craigslist.
