I think many April Wine fans would disagree with you putting their debut album as their worst. Also Walking Through Fire was recorded without 3 of the band's members, only Myles and Brian were featured. Interesting choice as their top album. I personally think Stand Back should be elevated in the rankings but I'll be honest I haven't heard their entire discography.

Oh I totally agree with you mate that many will disagree - thats the beauty of ranking these. The great thing about music though is when I heard 'Rock Myself to Sleep' that was the song that hooked me and ever since then I have been a fan and caused me to purchase their back catalogue and follow them right up to their last show at Rama last year.

'Walking Through Fire' for me was just amazing :D with 'Beg For Your Love' and 'Open Soul Surgery' on repeat and the girl in the video had be grabbing all the Wine I can find. Great memories.

I attended two April Wine concerts, and saw them once, and a bit.

July, 1977 at La Ronde in Montreal, (Outdoor venue on Ile Notre Dame). The Opening act was Andy Gibb, who had the #1 single on the US Billboard and Canadian RPM charts at the time of the show, (I Just Want to Be Your Everything), and he also played a then-unreleased song which would be a #1 hit a few months later, [(Love is) Thicker Than Water]. He was actually pretty good, but it was the wrong audience for his style. The kicker above the headline in the next day's newspaper concert review was "Andy Gibb Warms Up Hecklers". Andy couldn't handle fame, and he died at age 30 in 1988 from heart disease, acerbated by years of cocaine abuse.

May, 1980 I went to the April Wine show at the Montreal Forum. The Opening act was Johnny Winter. It was an unusually hot day, and very hot in the Forum. I had had a little too much to drink and smoke that day, and I missed lunch. About ten minutes into April Wine's set, I went to a side exit for some cooler air. I took a couple of steps in the hallway, and fainted. They took me to the 'OD Room', and they wouldn't let me leave until the show was over.

Sorry mate that you endured that on the second show. Did you at least see them after you recovered?

Electric Jewels is #1
For fun this weekend I'm going to listen to that and Walking Through Fire in their entirety and I'll post on here which one I think is more worthy of the #1 ranking.
