Someone should be fired for giving their licensing information to the police.
Agreed these weasels should be fired.
Sadly it won't happen because righties like to protect their weasels who engage in this conduct. Heck they probably encourage it with a wink and a nod! Cons are 'funny' people!....

I routinely cross the border to gamble, and can attest to the fact that many of the border guards are power-tripping, condescending dickwads. They have treated me with utter contempt, yelled at me for no reason, and are generally rude and arrogant. Many people who enter America for the first time get a negative impression because of these assholes, since it's their first contact with Americans.

While I despise border guards being dicks to legitimate travelers, I must admit I know quite a few dancers who have traveled to the US to work without obtaining the proper paperwork. And in those cases I think it's a case of live by the sword, die by the sword...

I can believe that strippers just dress and behave like strippers and that there is no leaks of info. The city would not all of a sudden leak it to the us guards.

Harassing attractive slutty looking women is one of the perks that comes with the boarder guard job, no city information leak.

I know a few strippers that go to Miami on a regular basis. They never seem to get hassled. If they dress like they are at work, then maybe they will get hassled.

Maybe its the strippers who offer take out menus who get hassled more.

Crossing the border is the pitts. They yell at U hoping U get upset and shout back and then they got an excuse to refuse entry.

U have to be ready for them on both sides, the US pulls cars over LEAVING the USA

the usa gotta let me back in, lol but i sure got hassled in the past coming back, lately its not as bad.

One of my American friends was actually detained so he missed his flight. Mind you he acted rather disrespectfully to the agents. No, he was not a "brown man".

Yep.

They are on a powertrip.

A friend of mine's cousin is Armenian. He was born in Tehran, but left as a child when the Shaw was overthrown. Long story short, he is in the US military now - special ops. When he comes to Toronto to visit his family here, he always gets hassled by the US Customs guys going back to the US. He told us one great story of how as soon as they find out that he was born in Tehran that he gets hauled off to the "special room" every time.

One time, he was actually with his mother, he draws some super-cop US Custom's guy who was a particular asshole and demanded to know "when was the last time you were in Tehran Iran"

The guy answers, "I can't tell you that"

Which only enraged the dick head. So buddy hands the dick head a some US military card with an ID number and tells dickhead, "you need to call this number" Dickhead gives him a huge hard time and buddy says, "if you don't call this number right now, it will mean your job" Dickhead calls the number all smug and buddy tells the story of how his face just goes grey when the voice on the other end of the line tells him to let buddy go and stop being an asshole orelse. Buddy says to him, "and let my mother go too"

"Yes sir, no problem Mr. So and so"

Oddly enough I have more of an issue with Canadian immigration than I do with US... the wait in Montreal can be ridiculous. I love it when they ask me what I'm going to be doing and they don't understand the answer....

Last trip to the US I got the third degree on the way in and on the way back chatted with the Canadian agent about how nice my trip was. Didn't even ask if I bought anything.

While I fully agree that both the Canada Border Services Agency and the U.S. Bureau of Customs and Border Protection can both be obnoxious.

My observations are the following: if there is a small to medium size crossing that you use fairly regularly - to the point where they may actually recognize you and you recognize them - things tend to move more smoothly. Very busy border ports such as the three public Niagara bridges and I-87/Autoroute 15 port are particularly bad. If you give straight forward answers (short of saying I was seeing SPs) things go much better. If you cross (particular ports that offer it) often enough and can pass the background checks sign up for a NEXUS Card.

must be a real slow week at US Customs, they normally harrass everyone. Too much I have the power and authority mentality problem.
