Yes We're sitting at 40% cash right now. The stocks I do like are MG-t, IPL.UN-T, HCG-T and an etf ZWB-T. Will be looking into VDU-T, its a play on the recovering eu.

As always, do your homework before you buy any stock.

Stocks are very risky if you don't know what you're doing. If you get suckered into pump and dump penny stocks, you'll lose most of your money, or if you do margin trading and short stocks on the way up you can lose a lot, especially if there's a short squeeze.

If your aim is long-term investing in solid blue chip companies with hefty dividend yields, stocks will net you a pretty penny in the long run, but most people are impatient and are always looking to get rich quick, so they resort to day trading instead of investing, and most people end up losing.

For a novice investor;
do a Finance 101 crash course. This will teach you how to report a company report and the main charts which are Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Statement of Cash Flows.
Watch BNN especially Market Call and Market Call Tonight. Ogle Catherine Murray. Read ROB daily.
Act (with your disposable income or retirement fund) with your brain NOT with your emotion.
Subscribe to a financial newsletter or 2 or 3 or ...

With all your knowledge you can go to sedar and research companies and make wise investment decisions.
