You stupid Bunt! Always thought the snakes would get him. Why do folks want to be famous just to educate? Liked his show, well and his wife. Too bad she paid the price for his adventurism.
That's a shame. But, I guess it is the same as anyone who does a dangerous job. Just look at those people who work with volcanoes and are right up there with them as they are erupting or news reporters right out in storms etc... Accidents happen or one misjudgement can get you.
True. At least he died doing what he loved. How many of us will be able to say that to St. Peter? My bad for the others out there... But I have it on good authority your all going to hell. Lol NOT. We could only wish to go out so quick.

Seemed like a good man who loved his work....Brought a lot exposure to the Australian zoo and wildife....Definitely, a one of a kind of individual....

Normally, if someone dies, celebrity wise, I wouldn't care.
But having a passion for animals and the environment, this is pretty saddening to hear. Sort of had a pit in my stomach when reading that tonight.
After opening my browser and seeing "in the news" on wikipedia, the words "Steve Irwin" and "dead" in the same paragraph.
He did a ton for the world, environment, animals, I just hope it's somehow carried on. There will never be another like him, definitely.
Like Lurker said though, how many will be able to say, they died doing what they loved most. Thanks for the laughs, memories and education Steve.

I would think that those final tapes would be handed over to his wife and kids and that would be thier decision if they wanted them broadcast or not.

Same thing when people keep tigers as "pets", yes they can be tamed for many years but its that one time when the animal snaps, and its bye bye animal trainer.
Maybe it didnt like the colour of his scarf who knows, but it remains a wild animal and you can never predict what they'll do
