the hobby needs more capitalism
Hilarious how all his criticisms against Android could also apply with Windows Mobile.

Microsoft came into the game way too late. The OS had great promise too. Hopefully they catch up one day though. Major issue is may app developers are not giving this mobile OS the time of day. Like TD Canada Trust for instance. Has an app for Apple, Android and of course Blackberry but staying away from Microsoft Windows phone at the present moment.

Man, Microsoft used to be the mean top dog. After Gates left it became a lumbering lazy giant under Ballmer. Glad to see him go though but will that be enough?

You would have to be insane as an app-developer to develop for the Microsoft Phone. They have made all existing apps obsolete for several version changes now.

The problem is spreading to Windows. A trade magazine recently wrote an article explaining that Value Added Resellers (VAR) would not be able to ship Metro apps for Windows 8.1. The logic (licensing rules) were convoluted, but Microsoft was admitting that one particular class of vendors would not be able to ship Metro/Modern apps.

Microsoft is convinced the solution is to be like Apple, without realizing that Apple only has a fraction of the market for real and unavoidable reasons.
