NEVER SEND DEPOSITS
This is my normal default, however, the one time I actually did send a deposit, it was to a verified provider who had a website and social media links, was very well-reviewed, and was very communicative via text. I spent an amazing hour with her and left her the full fee upon my leaving. She later texted me back saying I forgot to take the deposit out of her fee and I responded that I did not forget and to consider it a tip. The next time I saw her did not require a deposit, and I had another amazing experience.

Do your research and it can pay off immensely.

Just curious, how many people offering advice are regularly TOFTT? I semi-regularly TOFTT and have yet to be burned and I don't follow most, if any of the steps laid out here lol, just saying. Especially not the ones laid out by a provider who NEVER books providers off LL. Would you learn how to drive from someone who builds cars but doesn't drive them, or would you rather learn from a race car driver/instructor? Just some food for thought. I mean, I see providers all the time. I spent close to 1k in the past week and a bit, not a single one asked for a deposit lol.

Let's be real, if someone has most of the hallmarks of a career provider (website, twitter, etc.,) with lots of presence and followers, there's very little to look into aside from service level and rates. It's the ones that don't have that, i.e. 90% of LL that you need to learn to sift through. Very little of what I've read so far actually helps you do that. Checking pics helps you identify the clear scams and copy artists, but what if they admit to it and say it's a lookalike, will you chance it? What if you don't get any hits on the pic search? Is that an automatic go? Many of the Asian agencies use fake pics but look how busy that thread is.

Posting LFI threads often turns up little to no results in my experience, so do you only see girls vetted by others? What if you want to TOFTT and not just see the same old providers day in day out?

The truth of the matter is you have to speak to the provider and ask them directly for proof of who they are, then take a chance. There is no full-proof way to vet unknown providers and if you want to go on an adventure as I like to think of it, then you will always be taking some sort of chance. I do it when I have cash to burn and time to waste. When I want a sure thing, I go with a reg or vet someone through TERB etc. I don't tend to think of them as the same thing, personally.

I have TOFTT a few times now and got burned right out of the gate lol. Hard lesson learned.. Anyone new to this has no idea what to look for or how to even look. LL is usually the first and easiest place that will show up and slowly people make their way here. Hopefully come across a quick guide until they learn from a Race care driver like your self ... lol

I definitely still consider myself a student of the game. Some guys on here have been doing this longer than I've been alive, but if you really want to take chances on completely unknown providers on LL it's gonna take more than a reverse image search, just my 2 cents.

I've taken a few for the team and then posted some here. I don't take much stock in the photos unless confirmed by other members here or by them having a decent online presence. If the person is far from photos and that unattractive or you feel uncomfortable then walk away.... I didn't first few times, but have grown wiser in my old age. I have no qualms walking away if I truly believe I was duped. Last time I was duped I was very upset more at my dropping the ball by not confirming in person the details discussed over text BEFORE handing over the "donation". I probably could have pressed it further, hut didn't want to get into a high risk situation (ie physical) so I cut my losses

Have to be prepared to take some losses when seeing the unknown, just the way it is right.

I ain't no race car driver, just a slow bus... or is that a short bus?

I like the idea of a pinned post to shepherd the newbs to. Hopes would be to cut down some of the conversations around ”scamming”. There is also an argument for another pinned post on Hobbyist etiquette lol

Thanks to all posters for your thoughts and @Kingsley.McKenna and @bushido_99 for taking the time to aggregate our collective thoughts.

I keep thinking to myself I need to meet Kingsley one day ;--)

Ways to verify a provider is real:

1.Read the ad, look for a website or links to social media (Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit)

2. If there’s a website or social media, scan to see if they are located or touring in the city that their ad has been posted. Cross reference dates for tours. Often girls post in multiple cities WHILE touring in order to get prebooked dates so they can confirm they will have dates in that city before they decide to tour there. (This is not a red flag, just do some research).

3. No website or socials? Check their name, phone number and email address through different search engines (Google may but a bit broad and bring back too many results so start with a search through Terb, Perb or other review board sites)

4. Reverse image search:
- Google lens: right click/long hold to see drop down option, select “Google Lens” or “Search Image with Google”. Use the magnifier button to search image source, it will bring up results if found elsewhere online.

5. If their ad promises you every acronym in the book for under 30 minutes and at an extremely low rate…use your big head and don’t TOFTT

Other things to keep in mind:

- deposits do not mean it’s a scam, do your research then decide if you’re comfortable sending a deposit
- gift card deposits are not always a scam, again do your research on the provider then decide if you’re comfortable
- while I don’t agree with providers who post “no AA” as it’s obviously racist and discriminatory. They unfortunately aren’t always scams either, just more likely very ignorant providers or they have a pimp/management behind the scenes. So tread carefully on those providers.

You guys would probably benefit from a pinned thread with resources like this. Cause I’m sure legit providers like myself are just as frustrated seeing clients getting scammed.
It hurts our bottom line when clients lose faith in the ability to find and book legit and reputable providers.

And as much as I don’t want to “victim blame” anyone here, just use your big head when you’re looking for a provider, do your research/due diligence to protect yourself and protect your wallet. We’ll all be happier for it.
Great advice, as always!

Posting up @MaddieCMJ response in another thread for consideration... @bushido_99?, I appreciate her mentioning both SW and hobbyist boundaries are to be respected.

Please read her whole post, edited here to highlight her points for addition to this conversation.

Not all providers who screen or require a deposit are scammers, not all clients who don’t feel comfortable in partaking in screening are time wasters. But rather than question, attack or belittle someone for either having a screening process or saying they aren’t comfortable in going through one, accept that and move on…. It should never be seen as something personal imo, an appointment shouldn’t result at the expense of either sides' boundaries.

There are definitely pre cautious things to keep in mind one can do to help avoid these types of incident from reoccurring or having happen to you at all:

  • thoroughly review the ad you’re viewing, use image look up, does the provider have other platforms? If you don’t see one listed, it never hurts to ask! aka a link to social media or website?
  • does she have any reviews? Yes things can be YYMV but this is again, to verify that they’re more so legit and that they’re at the very least who they say they are and will follow through with a session. Keep in mind every experience and individual are unique. Just because someone experienced something (positive or negative) doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll share the same experience, having an open mind without set expectations (other than the ones previously discussed during correspondence) but rather letting everything play out organically truly enhances the experience, and makes things more comfortable and enjoyable for both sides = likelier positive experience
  • try to keep personal information as private if possible. In instances where a deposit or ID verification is required to book and you’re not comfortable, that’s totally fine! If you’re not comfortable don’t do it, however, don’t try to convince or pressure a sw to bypass her screening protocol. Maintaining your boundaries shouldn’t come at the expense of someone else’s, both are equally important and should be equally respected
  • You might be able to inquire about an alternate option that could potentially work if they’re open to it. As an example: I accept references as an option for those who don’t feel comfortable providing a deposit or ID. Otherwise if it’s indicated as non negotiable, or if they say no again respectfully move on.
Great thread, appreciate all the great advice! How do we go about taking the master list and getting that pinned?

I don't have any links to social media and I might not "seem" legit based on these very practical guidelines... But if asked for verification pics, I provide them asap and happily. I think there's always a scam loophole no matter HOW diligent you try to be unfortunately 😔
If I can't do enough for someone to feel safe, I wish them the best and continue with my scam-free work ways.
If something seems sketchy, trust your gut. You'll find another provider that will be able to give you what you need to feel comfortable 😊

Hey Lisa!
By joining this site you’re already giving credibility to your SW name. So that’s definitely a good step.
And it’s good to see you’re already sticking to your boundaries when it comes to communicating with clients.
If you do get on socials I highly recommend starting with Twitter (X as it’s now called), as it’s not only a great marketing tool but you can find a strong community of other SWs who will support you along the way.
Feel free to DM me if you need any support or resources!

I'm trying to find my way of navigating the many complications of customer/service provider interaction. There always seems to be a trip wire somewhere, and while my personality style is be very open and forthcoming, I'm learning that I have to find ways that work for me to protect myself from scams on the customers' side. This site is amazing for giving people info on which providers legit, who's verified, who's worth it but there are way less guarantees for us about who's showing up (or not showing up 🤷🙄😂)
It's a frustrating process for both sides I think, but I'm finding that the simplest solution for me has been being myself. There will always be people on BOTH sides that misrepresent themsleves... I'm just trying to stick through the bs and continue enjoying the lovely people I do meet 😊
Thank you for reaching out, it's nice to know the community support is there. 💋

"Don't send deposit or a picture of yourself NEVER EVER " or any form of prepaid credit card or Uber or Amazon gift card NEVER EVER.

Some Sp has a screening process which requires you to provide personal information/photo id like you are doing a police check. This screening process you have to decide if you are horny/desperate enough to send your personal information to someone who you don't know . For me it's a HELL NO

Any adds with full Face and private parts on display, anything that's too good to be true and and sp with no restrictions 19&20 years old and ofcourse go with your gut feeling never go again your own feeling

Be careful doing outcall if you haven't seen the lady previously

and lately, the scammers have become increasingly lazy.
pictures are a cacasian blonde, who is very petite and fit - yet the ad description says asian, black hair, ddd breasts, and obviously the wrong weight.
they can't even bother to match the fake pictures to the fake descriptions.

Two things I look for that nobody seemed to have mentioned yet are:

1: Legit girls will very rarely show their faces on their ads. When I see someone showing their faces on their photos it's a red flag right away for me.
2: Right-click their photo and click "Search image with Google", it will bring the picture to google images and if the scammer used a photo from another website it will show to you.

I find that this, combined with the search on Terb's archives, will help to filter most of the scams pretty instantly.

As per verified ads.

When coming across a verified ad be sure its accompanied by the gallery. Look that its the same number and details.. often verified ads are posted in many cities across the country but the gallery can only be posted in one city. If the gallery is not in the city you found the verified ad then it's likely an ad used for multiple girls across the country.
