I have seen an increase on Gaineau side of girls asking for steam cards rather than cash. Is this legit? How do they validate what is on card? why do people prefer that over cash?

i'm going to guess it's a scam especially if they ask for it ahead of time. I'm guessing they will use them to resale the codes to key resale sites for money and they likely get paid through crypto currency. Likely much harder for them to get caught than if you paid via cash and it is much easier for their victims to send a gift card then it is to pay via crypto currency to begin with (I'm guessing that's why they are asking for steam cards instead of crypto currency).
