Here
He's the 7th prime Minister in ten years, not much job security there and I don't understand why anyone would want it. Unfortunately the labour party still has a strong majority so not much will change for now.

If only labour could get an actual left wing leader like, say, Corbyn.

Labour's control can go on for another three years.

Andy Burnham is the prohibitive favorite to move into 10 Downing Street.
One might wonder if Labor believes it can simply change horses to gain popularity.
I have read he is more pragmatic than Starmer and the ideological left.
We will see.

That is not the reason why he's resigning and you know it. He's a disaster on pretty much every issue.
The only thing he was known for was licking Trump's ass. Trump. as usual, reciprocated by giving him a dump for not embracing his Iran war.

Then look at our Mark Carney. I dont agree with everything he does but my golly he is trying new things. And he is no licker of Trump's ass

This is dismissive of the British electorate.
They have their own local reasons for being frustrated with Starmer.

You also have the fact that Labour only gained a third of the vote in a low turnout election in 2024.
Although the election gave Labour a large majority in terms of seats, Starmer's and Labour's popularity in 2024 wasn't that deep.

Reform needs to govern the UK
From the outside looking in, it appears Reform has its strength from its immigration and cultural policies.

Economics is where the country is divided. The U.K. economic stasis can be attributed to a large share of the population supporting an expensive welfare state and high taxation.

Even by political standards, Starmer was one of the greasiest politicians I've ever seen.
One of the most blatant two faced, backflipping politicians ever, a coward.
Agreed. Not any different from Tony Blair.
I am witholding my judgement on Burnham while noting that he is, like the rest of the cabinet, a member of Labour Friends of Israel and promised to make Israel his first destination when elected. More pressing for all of UK is that their economy is a basket case and showing dangerous cracks. And then there is Farage always ready to bring out his fire-thrower.

Actually he tries to do that when he thinks no one is around. Did you catch his surreptitious convo at G7 about "ONLY 3% of Chinese EVs...... Thought you'd like that."

Compared to David Cameron. Kier Starmer is a choir boy.

Everyone is ignoring the 800 lbs gorilla in the room, Brexit. The UK decided to exclude itself from it's largest trading partner, every PM since Cameron has been powerless to stop the economic slide.

I have been having this discussion the last two years.
Contrary to the fans of the European Union, France and Germany are not outperforming the U.K. economically.
All three major European economies have been relatively stagnant the last ten years.
I believe some members pointed to headlines and/or every expert that says Brexit is bad.

Given my skepticism of things political, I personally prefer empirical evidence when it can give us a picture of effects.
