Squirrel trolls cat hard

We are the house with no dog in the back yard.
Dog to left, dog to right, two dogs two houses right. Dog at the house that is 80% of the back of our back yard behind us.
Quite a few trees in our back yard including a 50' Norway Maple
So squirrel heaven.
About 13 of them called my yard home the last few years.
As well as a rabbit and a few chipmunks that wander through.
And the occasional noisy red squirrel that mostly sticks to the neighbors evergreens and thinks nothing of telling off a dog should it consider barking at it.
And of course a big healthy looking racoon that walks the sidewalk in the early morning.
During COVID lock downs looking out the back patio window watching the squirrels in the am was way more uplifting than anything on our big screen tv for the rest of the day.

Didn't Douglas Adams describe a bad guy as "a squirrel fancier or worse"? They are rats with tails and you don't want them in your attic...
We had 2 dogs barking at a squirrel up a tree. A few minutes later one of the dogs appeared with the dead squirrel in it's mouth. It must have been a stupid squirrel to come down from the tree with 2 dogs starring at it.
