There's a conversation on another board about sponges. So I just wanted to see what you terbies think about this.

Here's what I said. What do you guys think?

I see no problem with escorts using sponges, providing the escort is upfront and honest about it. If the escort tells her clients in advanced, that she's on her period, they may not mind. I can't see any escorts publicly announcing that they are on their period, in the advertising section but it may be a good idea to announce it privately via the escorts mailing list.

What do you guys think? Do you think it would be okay for escorts to privately let clients know(via mailing lists) that they're on their period but they're still willing to take clients? Is that too much information? If clients don't want full service, there's other options, for example erotic massage or whatever the escort of choice wants to offer. I'm not talking about giving a discounted price for full service with sponges: I'm talking about a more honest approach to this situation. Some regulars don't mind seeing the escort of their choice because they enjoy spending time with them.

Agree 100% let the client know and he can decide if he wants to go thru with the date.

I have absolutely no problem seeing a favorite lady who is having her period as long as I know in advance. Like you said, there are many other options to explore with her. I could simply enjoy my time with her in her company especially if she is one of my regulars.

When it is someone I have never seen before, and I am not aware of the situation ahead of time, then the discovery of it is a bit shocking especially when you are down there.

I would think that letting a client know at the time he is doing the booking would be sufficient.

One thing I can't ever quite figure out is why most girls have periods, assuming they're on additional birth control other than condoms. There are other forms out there like depo which prevent periods entirely. Since I would imagine that a period is bad for business (unless she likes the 4 days or so specifically off), why don't more use something like that?

Actually there was a girl on the other board advertising a Red River Special for $60 or so. All play in this case is above the belly button. But then again, a girl needs some time off and that time of the month could be a good excuse to just relax and not "work" (unless the pimp is very demanding...).
One SP didn't tell me and I found out after I introduced a dildo that came out with blood (the sponge didn't prevent all the blood from leaking) ; God I was angry and I left. The girl was with an agency and the agency was "convincing" the girls to use sponges, telling them how idiots we (the clients) are and that we could not find out...

If you have your period, just take the time off.

I don't care about the pimp thing (pimps are fucking cock suckers anyway)...just take the time off and feel better.

It sucks, yes...just take the time off. Your clients will respect you.

Well, maybe it's comments like this that make escorts not want to be upfront and honest about using sponges. Maybe the escort can't take the time off for many reasons, other than having a pimp, bills, school, ect. I think escorts would be more inclined to be upfront and honest if people were more understanding about this situation. It's not for all, yes, but there really is clients who are willing to see escorts on their period.

This is your guys chance maturely put your opinion out there and come up with some kind of standard for this. However, when you don't address this when you have a chance and then complain about it in reviews, ect, after, it makes you, the clients look bad.

I think most, if not all, hobbiests would expect to be notified when booking, or upon arrival in the case of sudden onset, of the situation. I had a session booked with a reputable SP and when I arrived she informed me of her situation and it became a "red river special", which were different services and rate structure, it was totally fine. Had she not told me and I found out by accident I would have been very disappointed and yes, would have likely turned into a warning / review. Upfront communication is always the way to go in my opinion.

After reading the thread on the other board, it is clear that many SP's do have to work through this time of the month (TOM) for many reasons. Some of these ladies are putting themselves through schools/ colleges, to pay bills, to feed family members etc etc. Losing 3-4 days of work (may be more for some) and income in a month may not be an option for many. I do not lose respect for those who have to work through their TOM. But I appreciate it if I am told in advance and given a choice to keep the appointment or not. Granted, there are times when TOM arrives unexpectedly and even catches a lady off guard. The scenario described by Ryan1967 seems to me was handled very appropiately by both parties. To me, this is an example of a win-win situation.

That was indeed an interesting read...mostly to see how some of the SP's feel about the subject of disclosure and consent to proceed, it is useful to know who feels that non-disclosure is ok...

If you believe that I have a bridge for sale.

The amount of money they can clear a day, if they can't take 3 days off a month it isn't because of bills, food or school fees. Seriously. Even at 150 bucks an hour clear you think they need to work Victorian factory hours to make ends meet for basic expenses?
You have the right to believe whatever you want to believe. I was only quoting what I had read and heard from some ladies. And I said 3-4 days and may be more. BTW, I do believe the ladies who personally work in this business.

I believe I know the thread you are referring to from the other forum and I posted in that thread what I will share here.

I may catch some flak for this but I think if you are offering your time AND your body, it is only proper and professional to tell the client when your monthly appears and give him the respect of choosing what he wants to do. When you do not disclose this information, you are essentially taking away that person's choice and in this manner, their informed consent to sexual services.

That is not a risk I am willing to take with someone for the sake of a few bucks.

Some guys are totally into that, and that's cool. But most would rather not and certainly wouldn't want to look in the mirror and realize they just joined the Detroit hockey team.

So, YES!!!! You must tell your clients! WTF???

Seriously, I don't understand why that's even a question. That's like me polling if I should tell my clients that I'm sick and about to hurl on their floor or just ignore it and take the chance that my flu bug is okay as long as I manage hit the bucket AND they don't notice.

I don't mean any disrespect to anyone, but I just don't get the question.

My question was asked to get your guys opinion about this matter. I think you did a good enough job of sharing how you feel...
