came from Tom Emmer’s office? It’s very obvious that Emmer is the RINO & Trump haters’ pick for Speaker so they can attack Trump.
Mitchy, Trump beat up the Texas GOP severely over the Ken Paxton case. He essentially twisted the nuts of almost every TX GOP politician and got them to acquit a clearly corrupt and guilty PoS and then turn on and destroy his accusers. That was all Trump.
So he thought he could beat, degrade and humiliate the federal GOP the same way and - just to flex - he had his lackey-dicksucker Gaetz overthrow McCarthy and put forward another lackey, Jordan. It almost worked, but didn't. Probably because the 20 hold outs were in exposed districts in CA and NY.
If he placed GymJo as speaker, he could also have worked with GJ to overthrow the 2024 election in the same way he attempted to overthrow the 2020 election.
America narrowly dodged a bullet. Texas didn't.
One thing for sure is that the next speaker will be plan d/e/f/....z. It's unlikely that someone that far down the decision tree will hold the position in other than a custodial role. They will NOT be an effective speaker. Not to say that McCarthy was better. He was also ineffective. It probably means that the GOP need to win Congress again in 2024 and also inject some new blood into the party. The next effective GOP Speaker is probably not sitting in the house at the moment.
At some point is the GOP going to reach across the aisle and pick a speaker that a majority could support? This whole RINO name calling is just hurting the party. The fact that these clowns cannot even take advantage of a slim majority in the house tells you everything you need to know. The modern GOP cannot govern. They'd rather be in the opposition/minority to slam any progress the Dems make, because actually passing legislation (that aren't tax cuts) is kinda hard...
