What do you prefer? Alpha you need to pay all upfront to reception, paradise/angels you pay door fee up front and rest to MA, everywhere else all fee to MA directly

Don't have an issue adjusting to the policies of spas regarding payment. My only experiences have been to pay the entire fee at the reception desk, or to pay the fees to the MA. Either way works for me.

Was at another spa a few years ago and the entire fee was collected by reception. This happened a couple of times and was explained as a convenience to the MA. Seemed fine to me and there were no issues. The practice at the other spa (not Alpha) varied with each visit, perambulating between paying at reception or paying the MA. Seemed like good teamwork to spare the MAs the inconvenience of collecting, and didn't have an issue with the policy. Didn't see anything about it online and didn't think to mention it.

Have been to Alpha quite a few times and have paid the MAs directly on the majority of visits. Think clients paid reception when I first joined, recall using a credit card on occasion, then went to paying the MAs in the room, then back to prepayment very recently. Didn't seem like a huge issue to me. Just went with the flow, followed policy, and made sure my bills were paid.

Saw Jessica in passing recently and we had a very pleasant convo. Have nothing but admiration for her and all the Alpha ladies.

Have sessioned with Cocoa a few times and have utmost respect for her. A lovely young woman.

Angel has poured drinks for me and brewed up cappuccinos. Jessica too! The pressures the receptionists, MAs and management are under are considerable. They deal with a lot of items simultaneously, and keep things moving along smoothly.

Flying beneath the radar is the role played by the client, who was either unaware of the pre-payment policy or was disingenuous about it.

His actions, by intent or omission, caused a lot of heartache. Shame on him if it was deliberate. He should have figured out what was going on and made payment to settle up so everyone was happy. Clients have a role to play in successful appointments.

If I was the client and got turned around by a mix-up in payment policies would have been profoundly embarrassed and apologetic. Would have settled up right away and made sure the ladies were happy with the finances. Then topped off the session with some drinks 🥂

Maybe the scofflaw scurried down the back stairs or dipped down the elevator, smirking over non-payment, or was completely oblivious to what happened. Men are sometimes oblivious to most things, except for women, sports, drinks, autos, fitness, politics ... the essentials.

Am saddened by how things blew up online, and by the ad hominem attacks leveled at the ladies. They are all capable, intelligent, honest, professional, powerful and principled women who were left to deal with the fallout when the client failed to follow policies, pay his bills, and show respect to the beautiful women who provided him with a great experience. Shame on him.

Best to be aware of policies and make sure all parties are satisfied to ensure the appointment was satisfactory and can be repeated.

I prefer to pay directly the MA and she will deal with her admin/boss after the session.

When I pay upfront, I feel that it removes a good opportunity to tip the provider the way I want. Oh, for sure, some of you will say "You can always give something" - Ya, but I feel that once the money is given, I don't deal with it anymore (personal choice and feeling). Regardless that I give it to the MA or to an admin, I rather pay at the end and if we agreed of a price, I give it to her. If during the session, we decide to upgrade or if I want to give a tip because I had a stellar session, the end of the session is the best moment. When I must pay upfront, most likely I won't give any tips.

That's me!

I must confess I was not quite prepared for the pay upfront policy change on my visit there today. Next time, I will make sure to bring exact amount as it was a bit uncomfortable for me asking for change. My preference is to pay the attendant at the end, as I can control the amount I want to give her as a tip, it's one payment, no fumbling for change or doing mental calculations.

With accordance to Bill C-36 no spa should be handling the money.

You should be paying the lady (worker) directly

justice.gc.ca/eng/rp-pr/other-autre/c36fs_fi/
As Nadia already shared, what Aloha is doing is illegal. A “third party” should never be accepting payment on behalf of the MA.

I know some of you guys might not care about the legality here (obviously all of us are participating in grey areas of the law) but, this law exists to try and prevent people from taking advantage of sex workers.
So if you wouldn’t hand your cash over to a pimp cause that feels icky, then why would you hand it over to someone else?

I wouldn’t trust ANYONE taking my cash “out of convenience” 🙄

Great points made by Kingsley and Nadia. Succinct & informative posts. A learning experience for us all.

In my experience the prepayment policies at Alpha and other spas were put in place to prevent clients from leaving without paying. It was a proactive and protective measure, not an exploitative practice.

In each case I knew the admin team member who I paid the fees to, had convos with the MAs about prepayment amounts, and had great times in sessions. No issues.

Am saddened to hear clients are attempting to leave without paying, which made the practice necessary.

Payment policies may change moving forward, and I will remain flexible to any scenario to ensure all parties are paid accordingly. A happy ending indeed 🙂🥂

I hate carrying around cash. Most of the ABM's downtown close at like 5 pm or 6 pm. They often have random crackheads crashed inside or some shifty looking weirdo posted outside. White label ATM's at certain spa's have a transaction fee of 10 percent...

Any reason why more ladies do not accept Apple Pay or another p2p payment processor after the session while we're still in the room?

Maybe to keep the anonymity? Maybe for t*x purposes? Maybe not wanting to pay fees?

Alpha/Brass has always been with the MAs, until recently.

CMJ West has always been at the reception prior to Covid when they had regularly admin on duty. Since Covid, admin on duty has been scarce or non-existent, hence directly to MA.
CMJ East, way back in the day when the room on the left side was still an office it was to reception. Once that room is gone, hence no admin.
CMJ DT originally had a reception so it was always upfront at reception. Until Covid, again, when no more admin is when everything is settled in room.

I have settled both, at reception and directly with MAs in room. Personally it doesn't matter to me as long as everything is stated clearly and everyone (MA and reception) is on the same page.

Personal opinion, main issue is when not everyone at the spa is on same page or things were mis-communicated.

Hush/Alpha/CMJ are the only spas I frequent regularly (not Alpha recently, need to talk to Jess to have my account re-instated)

Yep, because AirBnb isn’t really a safe option for SWs anymore. Too many hidden cameras, or they have a front door camera that will see your foot traffic coming and going. There’s no discretion. It’s easier for SWs to book a hotel (and not have to do their own cleaning + get charged cleaning fees by Airbnb hosts) or like you said, they can rent rooms at spas.
Which is a model I actually support, because by renting a room from the spa/club the SW keeps their own autonomy, their money stays in their hands and it’s actually the most “legal” way for an MA/SP to actually operate within a spa/club setting.

I'm happy to pay the lady in cash and keep it on that basis.

Because there are too many variables that could end up with the girl not being paid at all. Someone cancels the transfer, someone calls their bank and claims someone stole their card/account info, etc.

I think with all the drama and issues surrounding there right now, you may not even get a response from her about reinstating your account. She’s either in a terrible mood and will take it out on you, or probably just wont answer you, so I wouldn’t waste your time

Another reason Airbnb’s are less popular is the cost lately. You’re paying far too much for a place to use for x amount of time
