I've never done a spa. Just seems very intimidating the first time. Nervous it'll look obvious what I'm doing to passers-by. Or that I won't find it, etc.
A once a month newbie night would be great. I get an appointment and a guarantee no other guy will be there, and get greeted at the door by someone who will go over all the details with me.
I can also imagine a 'bro service', a guy meets you at a nearby put, you have a drink and pretend you're hanging out, and after 10 minutes he says 'hey, mind if we seeing by somewhere so I can pick something up'. Then he guides you there.
Maybe I'm over thinking it.
You are overthinking it, but I get it. Honestly, if you've ever gone into a strip club, and overcome the nervousness about passers-by seeing you do that (particularly on Yonge Street in downtown Toronto, for example), most of the spas should be a snap for you.
Not targeting you - this is for everyone.
I understand that we're all the stars of our own movie, but most people around us are not paying attention to us or what we're doing. And if they are paying attention, so what? You'll probably never meet them, never talk to them - what does their judgment matter? Your life, your choices. And if you're legitimately worried about people who know you seeing you, don't go to spas in the areas where those people would be. If you're worried about bumping into a buddy/co-worker on the inside, well, they're there too aren't they. They probably don't want you outing them any more than you want them outing you - mutually-assured destruction.
Most of the spas in Ottawa are completely low-key. In case you've never been:
* Hush and Alpha's downtown locations are on main streets, but there's absolutely nothing identifying about them from the outside.
* Alpha West is in a commercial plaza but it's pretty specialized and, again, no signage. The guys in the barbershop next door are more likely to give you a head nod than judge you.
* CMJ West and Hush West are in very lightly-travelled commercial/industrial buildings.
* CMJ East is in a huge industrial plaza - pretty low key
The most obvious of the ones that I've seen? The Montreal Road Luxe Downtown East location is incredibly obvious, but you could be going into any of the adult businesses up there and there have been adult businesses there for so long that I doubt anyone notices the comings-and-goings anymore. Plus, it's Vanier for god's sake. Your spa trip is hardly the sketchiest thing happening at any given time. The Vibe Luxe Premium East location has obvious signage but, again, it's in a huge industrial plaza. Hardly a lot of eyes on you. And Paradise and Angel's Touch are both very obviously signed, but who's to say you're not going tanning? And again, neither of them are in busy locations.
Seriously, stand up straight, keep your eyes forward, and just walk on in. You won't regret it.
(edited to avoid confusion on Luxe locations)
