South Padre Island

I'll be heading to South Padre Island this week. Heading out on Thursday and will be back on Sunday. I think I might catch the early stage of Spring Break. God I love Spring Break.

So from what I've gathered so far, South Padre Island will be B & D Central while I'm there. That's Booze & Debauchery. Gotta love it. Apparently it's the Spring Break destination in Texas. I'll have to check out Daytona Beach, and Myrtle Beach in the next few years as I'm sure they're party places as well.

What I am curious on is how is Matamoros? That's the Mexican town just across the border from Brownsville, near South Padre Island.
Is it safe to cross the border in Mexico? As much as I complain about US Customs when crossing from Canada into the States, I have a feeling they're much nicer than US Customs when crossing from Mexico into the States. Just want to make sure that if I cross the border into Mexico, I don't get stuck there. Also, for those that have been to South Padre, where are the places to be when in South Padre?

You are right about it being spring break central.

Cannot say I ever went there though.


"Boys Town" was the name of the hoar villages just south of El Paso and Laredo.

It is legal there but we always went as a team for safety.


If Matamoros is the same you will find the hoars in a central village protected by fat policemen. The streets will be made of dirt ( do not go during the rainy season) and the old hoars will be in the streets in little shacks. The younger ones will be in the hotels and will cost more.

There will be donkey and animal shows for the pervs and a special part of the town for the American homos so know where you are.

Never had a problem with customs. We just got into a limo which came to the truck stop and and went.

Went to break there years ago - we got bored after 2 consecutive in Florida and SPI was great. No need to see the "sps" down there since all the college girls were more than willing but that was 20 years and 100lbs ago!

Yeah, I'm not really looking to score in Mexico. That's what South Padre is for. Not really looking for any crazy animal shows either. Just wanted to experience the Mexican culture and have some real Mexican food. Not the Tex Mex that I've tried here in Texas as that's not real Mexican food.

But from what everybody's told me, I think I won't be crossing the border. Not now anyways. It's a little too dangerous to be going into Mexico.

Anyways, I'm taking off in 4 hours and it's a 9 1/2 hour drive there so I guess I better get some sleep.
