Socialism is the form of government that more advanced societies evolve towards.

America may fall victim to Darwinism.

They might be only 10% but they have the power of 10 times because they are an extremely noisy 10% and fill our airwaves and streets with their wack ideas.

What capitalism creates, socialism destroys. Even an amateur student of human history will say the same.

Full on yes. But I'd say Universal healthcare and better education opportunities, coupled with a capitalist system that isn't based on cronyism and military adventure is a longer lasting model.

Have you looked around the USA. There is growing underclass that has no chance under the present system of getting out. Life expectancy is dropping, infant mortality rates are rising, poverty is rising. Overdose deaths are at an all time high. Racial tensions higher, violence between vulnerable people and institutions (police, first responders, schools, et al) is rising.

There is a creeping breakdown of the social order going on, that a privatized prison system and more corporate profits won't fix.

Things like the College scandal and even the Met Gala lend an air of Hunger Games to the proceedings.

Open your eyes to the possibility of the Empire's collapse from within.

Don't forget basing university admissions on "diversity" (i.e. quotas) and not on merit.

The first step in the fall of empires is excessive taxation and debt. Trudeau is doing both -- raising taxes and increasing debt. Ok, ok so Canada is not an empire but it can still fall.

The USA is an empire though. And in far greater debt without the infrastructure and positive outcome to show for it.

The "diversity" quotas are lip service compared to legacy and straight up paid for placement.

I don't think many Americans would want pure socialism or pure capitalism (as shown by only 39% in the poll saying capitalism is a positive). It is interesting looking at the questions about how Americans define capitalism.

(actual poll data - https://www.monmouth.edu/polling-institute/documents/monmouthpoll_us_050619.pdf/)

BTW, The poll has 58% of Americans supporting universal health care. Seems Americans support some socialist aspects in their lives.

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money.

Well, if the polls are to believed, Biden is leading by 32 points. Biden has never led anything, let alone by 32 points. Were I the DNC, I would do anything, legal and shady, to keep the socialist candidates from winning the primaries.

Surveys are showing overwhelming support for raising taxes on top earners, including a new POLITICO/Morning Consult poll released Monday that found 76 percent of registered voters believe the wealthiest Americans should pay more in taxes. A recent Fox News survey showed that 70 percent of Americans favor raising taxes on those earning over $10 million — including 54 percent of Republicans.

People in the US have been conditioned to be afraid of the word 'socialism', but they actually want socialist programs and taxation.
