It was a tummy tuck and breast reduction she was after.

From http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21742159/

"West had approached a plastic surgeon months ago about a procedure, but he declined to perform it because of a pre-existing medical condition and he never heard back from her, the surgeon’s publicist said Monday."

Elective surgery isn't necessarily foolish. Going ahead with it when you've been advised against it (because of a medical condition) is shear stupidity!!!

More than a handful can be fun, but beyond that is just too, too much.

There is always risk associated with surgery. Even if it seems "standard procedure"

Been under far too many times, none of it for elective. Given the risks of any surgical procedure I'm amazed at how casually some people approach it.

Social / Primal Fundamentals

It was once said that all males are attracted to women with large breasts to ensure the survival of the species. Lots of milk = healthy offspring. So when you get that deep yearning for "big tits" it's kinda hard wired from our Neanderthal days. This predi”lick”tion will eventually go away as species survival depends less on breast milk.

More importantly, the social attitudes are changing as smaller breasts are now seen as a sign of health and smart living. It appears now that nipple inserts are the “new” thing, so less surgery is always healthier.

It’s up to the guys to start “re-educating” the women at an earlier age. The less mature male will ‘talk to her tits”, allowing younger women to believe that cup size will increase popularity.
With less fortune – the 40+ year old woman slowly understands that cup size is one of the last things on the minds of aging people.

I wonder what the actual mortality rate for uncomplicated surgery is - for things like breast implants where it is basically the risk of the anesthetic and infection, when there are no complicating factors? Compared to things like a cross-country car trip, or a visit to Africa, or other things that people do, and consider worthwhile, but that have some risk associated.

But there is a large difference in the risk of anesthesia iperformed at a
world class hospital to a breast augmentation clinic.

I remember at Mayo Clinic, the anesthesiologist told me, that the risk from going
under at Mayo was the same as driving the same amount of time on a freeway.

What surprises me is, that people trust their lives to crummy litle clinics.
