In practice this wasn't the case. They Germans were friendly to and supported Arabs in hopes that they would side against the Brits. One major Palestinian Muslim leader was even brought to Bosnia to raise waffen ss units from the Muslim population. (this guy was actually the chief Islamic figure in the Jerusalem area as well as the mentor of Arafat)

James t Kirk , I am very surprised you were not formally taught WW2 and the Holocaust as part of the war. I went to high school in Mississauga and was taught Canada's role in both world wars , major battles , and the Holocaust. I was also taught about the killing fields in Cambodia . I graduated from UWO in 87 and in general discussions with my classmates almost all had a decent background of WW2 , war crimes , Holocaust etc.

As a side note . In residence we had to attend a short course in sex ed and alcohol . The number of 19 year old students who had little or no knowledge of AIDS , birth control , other STDs , and effects of drugs and alcohol was very scary !

These teachers should have the guts to challenge racist attitudes in their class instead of burrying their heads in their sand. For the crusades, the teachers should make a huge effort to be balanced in their teaching and not just repeat the standard middle ages propoganda but avoiding the issue is not what a teacher should be doing.

Exactly. I hope shit like this won't happen in Canada.
