I would like to install Quick Books Pro onto a usb hard drive so I can use it with either my lap top or desktop, is it possible to do?
any help greatly appreciated
Tks

If it's not pirated software call the support line. Otherwise you should be able to. If it is a External hard drive with a USB connection it should act like an internal hard drive

Ben you might have to install it twice in different partitions. Some DLLs might be added to your C drive during installation.

But legaly the copyright laws state software is like a book it can only be used by one person at a time.

So no legal issues on using it on 2 systems. But may be some DLLs you need

For a prog like that I think the red hatted smurf is right. It will probably intertwine with your operating system a bit when it is installed. But try it. We could all be wrong. It might work or it might make your comptuer explode! Only one way to find out.

I suggest that you install the software on both machines and use the usb hard drive only for data and forms

I support Quickbooks if you have any queries pm me and I will share all I know. - should take about 5 seconds.

Just install it on one machine, take out the cd, and install it on the second machine... don't bother with the usb drive

Thanks Everyone!

thanks everyone for the assistance,Guelph, I'll take you up on your offer if I need to!

mmouse, I wish I could just install it on one machine, but I will be using both machines and think its easier to move a hard drive around then to keep copying files back & forth to keep both machines updated!
