You don't need one, it's a waste of time as most internet based services are these days.

I cancelled my subscription a good while back, when they went "officially" green. I'm happy to support Canadian journalism, but if I wanted to support activism, I would have taken out a membership at the Sierra Club or Tree Huggers for Jesus.
I'm sure a lot of people won't have to look very far to find examples.
