Trump, Trudeau and Mexican president are supposed to have talks tomorrow, and I still think cooler heads will prevail, and they will all come to some type of agreement.

Of course I reserve the right to be wrong :D
If cooler heads were to prevail we wouldn't have reached this point.

This tariff on us is stupid and counter productive.

Agreed. Unless he's trying to get concessions.
And if he does get them, then it will have been a smart move.

But if he keeps the tariffs on Mexico, Canada, China, and the EU for next few years, he's taking a huge risk that never needed to be taken

Trump promised to impose duties on the EU “very soon” According to the US president, the European Union has "taken advantage" of the United States, and the country's trade deficit with the EU has reached $300 billion. The partner on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean does not take cars or US agricultural products, while the United States “takes everything”, Donald Trump explained. With this he justifies his desire to impose duties on imported goods from the EU. “I don't have a timetable, but it's going to happen pretty soon,” the US President said at a press briefing.

Guess who's taking the tariffs deals with the right mindset....
China willing to have talks with Trump.
Yup, of course, you will back anyone but your own country. Put your critical thinking cap on and read this article. While slapping them with a 10% tariff, Trump also invited the China leader to the inauguration and has had "good" phone calls which probably consisted of a wink wink, fill my family's pockets and we will work this out while the other 2 squirm.

China is in a position to put America into recession.. China is not doing so well currently right now and may just attempt to wait Trump’s term out rather than get into a full on trade war.

Yes because retaliatory tariffs will be the best way to this... Joly was sent to the US for what? She talked to 2 DNC senators nad a Hilary former staffer...doesn't sound like JT and his gov't still defiant about it at the expense of Canada....I will support Canadian products...we h ave no leadership at the moment....

still a better approach than retaliatory tariffs... It seems to me, Mexico and Canada is taking no accountability of what Trump is trying to say....secure your borders and be tough on crimes on your end...the message is loud and clear...

You really are clueless, aren't you? This is what Canada has done and there has been NO REPLY back when asked what else can they do at the border by Trump. He has gone after Mexico and China and now threatening to do the same to the EU. DO YOU really believe if PEE PEE had been in office say from last year, he wouldn't have come after Canada, go ahead and tell me so we can all see how naive you are.

Scores of planes, drones, dogs and agents
It’s the new hardware for the Canadian border that’s getting all the press attention, including in the United States. The Trudeau government has earmarked $1.3 billion over five years for border security, and much of that will be going to good, old-fashioned law enforcement: Drones, aircraft, dogs and people in uniforms. The RCMP is getting $667.5 million of the total, and the Canada Border Services Agency is getting $335.4 million.

The money will buy a reported 60 new drones, and enable the RCMP to add two leased Black Hawk helicopters to its fleet. Government backgrounders also promised more sniffer dogs, “additional surveillance towers,” “chemical analyzers” and “x-rays.”

Aerial border surveillance is typically best at preventing smuggling, which isn’t really a huge issue on the Canadian border, at least when it comes to drugs. Last year, for instance, the United States seized 185 pounds of methamphetamines coming in from Canada, as compared to 158,000 pounds coming in via Mexico.

I saw my favourite Toronto companion post a somewhat pro-Trump message yesterday on twitter and it was quite a bit disappointing to be honest. I’m all for free thinking and enjoy spending time with people that have different opinions but any support for things that will have devastating outcomes for Canadians is a turn off in more ways than one. She did quickly delete it but that actually made it worse in a way. How do others feel about situations like this?

I normally do not let politics get in the way of banging a hottie but considering the POS is trying to annex Canada through an economic war, I would cut her off from any regular business. Perhaps a first go if the girl is hot but as for repeat business never. It's like banging a crazy, they are awesome but you only want to do that once, then get the fuck out of there.
