Indeed. It’s not even about poppies or honouring vets...Don just doesn’t like immigrants. Period. He believes immigrants are stealing his culture and he hates them for it. Simple...I hear people on terb spouting that garbage all the time.

What else are you going to accuse him of, building concentration camps for immigrants? There's something wrong with you.

Actually, I think it's the reverse problem.
Some people here hate Canadians that have been here for generations, especially white Canadians.
They feel as if no one is allowed to feel vested in their roots here, and shouldn't be allowed to be proud of their heritage.
They believe that 85 year old people should pretend as if the way of life they and generations grew up with
mean nothing and if these old timers don't express themselves exactly as they see fit, or in the a perfect tone that validates them,
then they are racist and are equated with murderous dictators.

This is the best country on the fucking planet for an immigrant to move to, and Don Cherry probably had a tougher life
than most immigrants do today. Who are you to judge him like that?

As for old school hockey, it was getting too expensive to keep going. The NHL has had to settle a pension lawsuit with players of Bobby Hull's generation and a non-class action lawsuit on concussion protocol brought on by Doug Fehr and Eric Lindros. Too many former enforcers have died young.

But that's also easier said than done.
