i found a no kill shelter for small dogs. she has some great looking dogs there and is really good pricing. it is run by a vet. she doesn't look for cash donations but blankets, toys or anything that can make a dog comfortable. http://www.facebook.com/groups/154321794693721/?ref=ts&fref=ts that is the link to her facebook group. she has some really great looking pups there. sadly zoey was adopted. so i am going to keep looking.

Have had several Roti.s , they do not drool ,unlike my cane corso , but they shed like a bitch in the summer , these year mine is getting shaved , roti are easily trained , good with kids , would prefer a female over male , female dogs are more independent , males seem to need more attention, as for a large dog versus small , no way your roti would jumping in your truck on its own , I would go with the rescue dog route , local pound last time I checked was 300.00 with shots not fixed that was 5 years ago ,and as for vet bills ,country vets charge less and will sell you a 1, 2 or 3 year rabi,s shot , unlike the vets in G.T,A. which are all in collusion as to prices . But a dog is a dog , its the owner that makes or breaks the dog .

Get a pug!!! All these issues will be solved with a pug!!!
I once watched a documentary on negatives of designer dog breeding, and the health issues that arise from it. From that show I remember noting that Pugs suffer from breathing issues due to their squished up faces.

I have to recommend the website petfinder.ca, the site has a search engine that will list available dogs based on dog size, age, breed and distance from your postal code.
Note that most of the postings are place by breed specific animal rescue groups, using this site worked for me in my search a few years ago.
