When I play Age of Empire's, but that game is Window's 95 rated.
It's an Acer laptop, about 1 1/2 year's old.
I recently got rid of about 300+ pic's in the hope it was the problem but nope...
I usually run anti virus a couple time's a week, so this just started about 10 day's ago.

I suggest useing MSconfig and shutting down anything that loads in the background when your windows loads up, and only run things as needed. There are services that you can shut down also in computer Management that will speed things up for slower computers, also create a large paging file of virtual memory to help speed things up.
Great advice.
When I ran Win98, I got it down to 11 processes running.
Then with XP, got XP down to 19 processes running.
Just got a new Quad Core PC with Vista Home Premium and there were 62 processes set to run right out of the box! Tweaked it down to 55 so far and will probably tweak it down more as I get more familiar with Vista.

FWIW: have only used Vista a few days and am pretty impressed with it!
No problems at all yet. Everything is running great! Was using XP Pro and Ubuntu and played around with Mac some. While Vista didn't WOW me, it is an impressive OS!

Have a look at http://www.blackviper.com/
Descriptions of what the various services do and which ones can be disabled safely (XP and Vista).
