Skype, Anyone using it?

I've used Skype for chat long ago once but never for calls. How can someone call you? DO you get a phone number for Skype?

Haven't tried it yet but it looks like people just call your Skype 'handle' and a ringtone goes off on your PC letting you know someone is calling.

Anyone try skype on their iphone yet... heading to Asia in a couple of weeks and thinking about giving it a try.

There are a couple of different pricing options.

One pay option is to get a personalized phone number that will give a ring on your PC when it's on and Skype is running, otherwise it goes straight to VM. All incoming calls during the term are free but if you want outgoing calls with Skype, you pay per minute or you might get the monthly fee unlimited long distance calls. This is my set up, I never saw an option for a phone number and unlimited outgoing calls. This also allows me to set up a phone number in a US area code that I want so it's not long distance for people calling my phone number.

You can make calls between other Skype users for free. You just need to know their handle.

Skype is awesome - great call quality and very low rates for skype to land lines. Skype to mobile phones is a bit more expensive, but still very reasonable.

You can add your Skype Name on TERB if you wish.

Just go to TERB User CP > edit profile > scroll down and add your Skype Name.

I have.

Went to L.A. for a few days and made a few long distance calls to Canada on my iPhone Skype for free (I have a Skype subscription, of course).

All you need to do is find WIFI in the area to make calls.

I highly recommend it.
