It's over the top violence to the point where you're laughing at it as it's happening. Multiple stabbings, machine gun shootings, sledgehammers to the head and the characters are still wisecracking.

I'm probably going to see it again later tonight.

Exactly like the comic book series

Shot for shot, line for line-Frank Miller did not compromises except with Nancy Callahan/Jessica Alba. She's supposed to be dancing naked instead of wearing chaps and a lasso. But what made up for it was the unexpected view of Carla Gugino's gorgeous natural mounds and round bum! DVD here I cum!

I thought it was ok nothing spectacular. I would have thought it was one of the best movies of all time if Jessica Alba had been naked though :p

It's a great piece of work... and the movie isn't too bad either.

But seriously folks... Gugino is awesome. Where else would I have seen her before? She looks familiar.

Sin City is a great movie. Violence and nudity aside, the production value is great!

First off let me say that I am a fan of the original comic and that it was very faithful to the comic in terms of looks of characters, sets and scenes. The story and dialogue also followed three or four storylines lifted right from the comics so if you've read the comics you know what will happen.

From a visual standpoint the movie was really cool and creative and fun to watch.

But here are the problems, I didn't really connect with the characters and found that it was like watching a series of gruesome acts of violence. I love action movies but found this one a bit over the top keeping in mind that I had no problems with movies like Kill Bill (to give you guys a reference point). The movie felt cold and it was just a series of events that were strung together in such a way that you really don't care. Maybe since I knew what was going to happen the characters you're supposed to root for or hope things work out for is spoiled.

Basically I'd say wait for the DVD because you will probably be disappointed. Because the stand out features the visuals are only interesting for so long. But if all you want is violence this movie is okay but even then there are better movies for that.

I'm considering seeing this movie, but my sole reason is Jessica Alba. Is she in a lot of scenes, or is she just bait to lure suckers like me to see the movie?

(on a side note, I saw Alba's other dance movie and it was H-O-R-R-I-B-L-E!! But at least she looked good!)

Nobody in this movie is really in a lot of scenes other these 3:

Bruce Willis
Clive Owen
Mickey Rourke

The movie is broken down into 3 different chapters revolving around the above 3 characters bookended by 2 small scenes with Josh Hartnett (only reason for this is to set the stage for a sequel). All the other actors are supporting characters. Jessica Alba's character is actually very key in bring the 3 stories together however.

Yeh, too bad she wasn't naked but I wasn't expecting it. If you read her bio she grew up innocent (losing her virginity to her former fiance who she met on the set of Dark Angle at the age of 18 - she's 23 now)

Overall, I loved this movie. The violence was alot and could be too much for the faint of heart (but it's a graphic novel remember). Won't give anything away but there's some surprising characters in this movie with performances I never expected these particular actors to try:

Carla Gugino
Elijah Wood

As much as I'd love to see her naked, I was captivated enough by her beautiful, angelic face.

She was the mom in the Spy Kids series ... she had her own show called Karen Sisco ... and she was in the Paulie Shore movie Son-In-Law

I think she was also in 'Snake Eyes' with Nick Cage. I didn't find her all that attractive in that movie... boy was I wrong!

Sorry boys. The best part of watching Sin City was the popcorn I ate. Don't know why they had to use all that make up on Micky. The guy is now naturally pretty scarred and beat up after his failed attempt at becoming a pro boxer. What really shook me was hearing Willis admit to turning 60. Where did all the years go?

He's 50 & the line was, "you're pushing 60 with a bum ticker"

Great movie.
