Anticipating a great fight, who wins?...if Silva gets passed Anderson he goes down as one of the greats and is on a real roll

Not understanding why Leben is not on the undercard of this fight. The return of Evan Tanner an old fav of mine who is in tough for this fight, I think Tanner is going to be overpowered.

Maybe it's like that scene in Fight Club. Anderson Silva will beat the shit out of himself.

You mean, Henderson versus Silva...

Its gonna be a tough fight...
If it goes the distance then I can see Henderson taking it....
Its really gonna be a clash of styles and who will be able to control the fight....Silva and his Muay Thai or Henderson and his wrestling...

Leben's not on because he sucks....
Hopefully the UFC realizes that he Leben has no skill and cans his ass....Only thing Leben has got going for him is a hard head and heavy hands....
My only wish is to see a Leben and Silva rematch....Have Anderson demolish him once again....

Wow, on this board and others, everyone seems to be picking Henderson, and I wonder who is favoured in Vegas?? If Henderson is somehow favoured, I would love to put my money on Silva. I think it will be a great fight with different styles, but I think Silva, always seems to adapt his style to best fight against that particular opponent. I love watching him fight, and think he will win, hopefully the odds are good, to make money on that one...

Fuck....You're right....
Why the fuck is Leben on the main card?

I guess probably because of his stint on "The Ultimate Fighter" show....Many fans (the new ones) got into the UFC and MMA because of the TUF show....
So unqualified and unskilled fucks like Leben are still fighting in the UFC (on the main card no less...) because Joe Average knows who he is and thinks he's a great fighter....

The fight of the night may be the Arlovski vs. O'Brien matchup. Dana White is looking for any way to dispose of Andrei - this is the last fight of his current contract and there has been lots of bullshit between him and White. O'Brien has had a meteoric rise so far and is also looking to secure another contract as his runs out after this fight. Look for the winner to get up high in the heavy ranks while the other dives into obscurity.

Personally I won't be watching or buying. Just not intriguing enough for me. Sure Anderson and Henderson will be a good one that's a given but the rest is complete trash. Herring? Fitch? Leben? Koshcheck? Cummo? Tanner? Sanchez? UFC 82 shouldn't be called "Pride Of A Champion" but "Night Of Lame Overrated Americans Boring Us To Death". It'll be a snooze.

Silva is at -175 to beat Henderson. That means you must bet $175 on Silva to win $100. I think Silva will win, he has looked so strong in all his fights, Henderson was not impressive against Jackson. The question is whether dropping down makes him overpowering at 185, or just weakens him. But I am picking Silva.

Yeah, the card looks lame...but so did the last card....
And I was actually entertained by the last event.....So I'm hoping for another surprise...

I also heard the UFC isn't happy with Andrei but can they afford to lose him....
I think plenty of the new upstart fight organizations (M-1, Strikeforce, EliteXE, Dreams) would be thrilled to sign him (because he is a well know Heavyweight)....

Would be a great attention getting fight for Fedor.....

Arlovski is a heavy favourite to win the fight, you would think that if they wanted to get rid of him, they would give him a harder opponent.

I'm a fan of both Henderson and Silva so I'll be watching. Arlovski should win fairly easily. Henderson Silva will be a toss up. I think Hendo takes this but really, this is based on a gut feeling rather than analysis. Anderson has the bjj and striking advantage and Hendo's got the wrestling, strength and chin advantage. It should be a classic. The x-factor would be Silva's in Nogueira's team who has beaten Hendo in the past. Perhaps Silva's game plan will be better because of this? Who knows. Great match up in any case.

well hendo/silva wasn't a tossup. after a few tense moments in rd 1 silva dominated and in rd 2 choked hendo out. silva was striking hendo easy to set up the back choke. it was quite a brutal choke too. never really seen a guys tongue sticking out like that before. good for silva - he is pound for pound the best right now although if gsp can dominate a few more he might own that "pound for pound" name.

herring/kongo was an utter bore as predicted with herring winning a split. this fight was a tragedy. both these losers should be banned forever.

fitch/wilson was ok. but i'm not a fitch fan. i think he's extremely overrated. the decision was the right call as fitch did enough to win.

okami/tanner was also ok with okami by ko. but tanner is finished. he should retire. couldn't keep up with okami in striking or groundgame.

leben/sakara was a decent fight although short with leben ko sakara in rd 1. it was fast and furious and over quick.

arlovski/o'brien was somewhat disappointing with arlovski winning by tko. this might put andrei back on the road to a championship fight if he resigns with ufc.

sanchez and koshcheck also won their fights by tko so they are value getting back in the mix in their weight classes albeit against somewhat suspect opponents.

p.s. i didn't buy the ppv my neighbour did and invited me over. he paid the ppv. i brought the beer.

Hmm ... I was actually watching the Vasquez/Marquez boxing match instead (just an incredible fight and something you just have to see for yourself) so I haven't seen the UFC card yet. Seems like Anderson Silva's the man now. Well deserved and apparently he's such a nice guy too. Can't wait to see this. Apparently Okami looked good too. Perhaps Silva/Okami II is next? Anderson seems unstoppable right now. Maybe he should move to lhw after Okami, unless Wanderlei moves down to middleweight as he's rumoured to be contemplating.
