Should I leave

Kind of funny. I was at a social function at a friend’s condo a few weeks back. I was introduced to a few couples, having a drink, and a guy asks me what I do for a living.

The nerve of that bastard! I should have said I work! What kind of question is that! How dare he try to start a conversation with me! How dare he try to break the ice with a generic question and try to get to know me and be friendly by initiating a question like that!

I was soooo pissed off I told him and then he told me what he did and mentioned his wife did the same and the group enjoyed the evening. Good thing I didn't make too much out of it.

Same thing happened to me the other day. The guys says: "What do you do?"

I say 'Pardon"??? He says: "What do you do?"
I say pardon me??? He says "Yeah, your profession".

So I headfake him with a Heineken bottle to the head, strike him in the solarplex with a left-right combination and drop the guy with a straight roundhouse to the head.

Then I say is that enough "what do you do" for ya???

And after that I was STILL the champ!!!!!

booboobear?

From my recollection, he has posted on several SP/relationship type threads. So have I, but definitely not with the same fervor. I also recall his bouts with Misty etal.

Hey bbb, I feel the same way. However, I'm heading for real world women, in all it's complications.

Anyways, it's always fun to lurk and post occasionally though.

bbb,

There is a distinction between SP's and the real world. Don't confuse the two, and don't make analogies in one that really doesn't apply to the other, and vv.

Now this is good humor, you made me see my reaction in a different light. I'm sorry but although several people in this post have pointed out it happens to them I still have a bad reaction to being asked that question especially if I really haven't had any prior conversation with the person and it's the first thing they ask.
I'm not saying my reaction is right it'ss just the way I feel about it and if someone does it to me I will but them in my bad books from then on. Bad eh

Yes, and the first step is knowing you have a problem.

Quick story:

Went on a blind date with a nice looking girl. The first question she asked me was "what type of car do you drive" I was totally turned off after that.

However, this had "not" influenced my attitude toward women, just this one at that particular time.

You had a right to be upset by her . If it only was the one occurence then it should not influence your thoughts on women but this has happened to often to me, maybe because I'm older than you but of course I don't know how old you are .

The one thing I don't agree though is that is necessarily my problem. I see it as a problem of the person who can't think of any other way to open a conversation.

The only thing I have to say regarding you staying or leaving, is that, if you DO have some sort of hate on for women, perhaps you need to look at it more closely. And to be honest it concerns me that you DO hobby if that is how you truly feel about us. If it was just one of those rants cause some girl dissed you at the bar the night before, great. But if it is more deep seeded, personally I wouldn't see you. Men who tend to be so vocal about a dislike for women can be dangerous.how you feel, running away will only leave people questioning.
Emma
Emma you make some interesting points and I will reply in detail when I get a bit more time . Right now I'm working sort of trying to pay the bills. Catch you later.

Booboo, I'll give you some excellent free advice, whatever you're going through in your life remember that ALL people have their quirks and issues. Noone goes through life without some type of suffering.
When I was younger (I'm in my 30's) I had a bit of an attitude problem but this goes away after a while. Some problems that you may be experiencing can go away by themselves or fade away as you get older. Nothing ever stays the same I have found. I have seen some ugly people get much better looking as they get older (or richer...LOL). Of course they can never get as handsome as me but thats for another thread.

I have also seen depressed people find sudden happiness in their lives. (It's called drugs!!....NO..just kidding)

My advice to you is to just be patient and see what the future brings.

leave or stay. Make up your own mind- why do you care what we think about what you say, whether you stay or anything else?

That's like saying why does anyone post on this board. If no one cared about anyone's posts or conversly if evryone thought all your posts had no value then why would you post.
People post on this board to interact with people . It goes without saying that the decision is mine. Have you never asked advice before making a decision , that's all I am doing.
