Tommy Douglas did initially believe in eugenics, but I'm pretty sure that he gave that up later in life. Certainly doesn't seem all that consistent with someone who brought in public healthcare. People can learn and change. Well, maybe not right-wingnuts, but others can.

He was a big fun of it, as many were, in the 30s. His PhD dissertation called for separation and sterilization. Luckily, later in life he came to his senses; some say after visiting Nazi Germany.
