Shooter in custody..Still an active situation @2:30 pm people running all over the place. The killer's name apparently is Esteban Santiago.

Multiple people were killed in a shooting Friday at the Fort Lauderdale airport, the Broward County Sheriff's Office said on Twitter.
The gunman is in custody and was a lone shooter, Broward County Mayor Barbara Sharief told CNN on Friday.
"We have no evidence at this time that he was acting with anyone else. He is currently in custody and we're investigating," Sharief said. Investigators are looking into the suspect's motive, she said.

Reports are his name is Estaban Santiago and he flew from Canada on an Air Canada flight with a loaded gun in his checked baggage. After landing he claimed his bag, went to the washroom to get the gun out and started shooting.

I meant SR's comment. According to him, all problems stem from the left and/or Obama, when clearly gun control stems from all levels of gov't. Even if Obama is a dem, there are many GOP governors, state officials and member of senate and congress and these occurrences have happened under all administrations.

But of course, to him, Obama being president for 8 years explains everything.

You may transport unloaded firearms in a locked hard-sided container as checked baggage only. Declare the firearm and/or ammunition to the airline when checking your bag at the ticket counter.

I think it got missed in the on-boarding inspection....but how with detectors and such.

Perhaps he collected his luggage, went to the washroom and loaded the gun there. That could happen.
