Just think of the little ditty, "The Sheik of Araby" and there you have the pronunciation.
According to my handy Oxford Dictionary, it should have an "h" at the end, ie: correct spelling is Sheikh, but due to misuse over the years and the North American influence Sheik is acceptable, phonetically it would be pronounced shayk and not God, Lord or even Good Lord as Sheik himself would prefer.

Prolific? Possibly but I have a lot of catching up to do if I am ever to reach 7,000. Funny, but I remember Sheik when he was just another camel jockey shoveling camel shit and sand from Fred's tent. Hell, I remember Sheik when he was at two thousand posts and still "hammering" out an honest living. Yoda on a Harley - I still bust a gut at that one! I've been around so long that I can remember when Sam Jones was just another one of the guys in Waterdown;-) I can even remember when I had bigger muscles than Kathleen but then I can also remember when the Leafs last won the cup and digital was having the batteries run dead.
And now all this is past history - ripped away from my personna because I failed to acknowledge the membership of the board. My handle; my identity taken like the virginity of my sister in the backseat of a fifty-seven Chevy at the drive in while the hot dog and the bun danced the lacivious dance of sexual prelude, than exploding in the orgasmic love juices of too much bright yellow mustard with blood red ketchup. Damn you Sheik! Damn you too hell (all said in my best Gregory Peck voice while shaking my fist at a whale).
