Red House over yonder.

What made you finally shave your head or get a hairpiece?
Did celebrities like Yul Brynner and Telly Savalas influence your decision?
Do you color your gray hair or did you stop fighting time and go for the Lorne Green look?
Have these choices affected your social life?
Does a partially bald man like Jeff Bezos achieve super coolness by shaving the entire cranium?
Are Toronto winters or is summer sunburn a problem for the naked skull?

I read in a recent New York Times article a recent discovery that oral minoxidil is much more effective than topical minoxidil (Rogaine) in reducing hair loss, and even encouraging new hair growth, as long as the scalp is not completely bald and incapable of growing hair.

The required daily dose is one-fortieth of the regular minoxidil dose used to treat high blood pressure.

It requires a doctor's prescription, and is considered "off label "...

John Gallagher had his hair replacement paid for by The Learning Channel, in exchange for appearing in a documentary about vanity. They made small incisions in his scalp, then inserted and inflated small balloons, to stretch the skin. After a few sessions, there was plenty of loose skin on top of his head, so they cut some from the front, pulled forward, then reconnected the skin, so that hair that was previously near the back of his head was on top.

I'm 58 and my hair is pretty much all grey and thinning and I don't care. I'll never colour it or take/use any medication to grow hair. I do wear a hat in the summer if I am going to be out in the sun for a long time to prevent sunburn. Don't need to get skin cancer.
It is what it is.

Elon musk had successful hair transplant. That is another option. Don't bother with the ointments, you need to take them for life, and as soon as you stop, you lose everything.

The bald look is not good for attracting females, and a wig is unnatural. There are pros and cons of going either way, but honestly wouldn't you rather have dentures or implants than no teeth at all? A wig is cosmetically better than being bald. As long as your partner is OK with it, and you pay for a quality wig, I'd go with the wig.

When the time comes - will be going bald - shaved head for sure - until then - let nature take its course. I actually had the shaved head look pre-pandemic, actually liked it - grew out the hair during the Covid years and haven't gone back. See some grey's creepin in :ROFLMAO: - life.

Saw an unnamed Canadian comedian on tv who said " you know what I like about going bald? besides absolutely nothing? The fact that people feel the need to point it out to you." He went on to say that instead of looking at young girls anymore he finds himself looking longingly at other men's hair. Worse when you see a homeless person with a beautiful head of hair. "I could put that to better use than you. Some bum walking down the street with a pompadour with chewing gum in it."
Does seem an unfair and unnecessary affliction.
I am at the stage where a yarmulke would cover the problem. Oy vey.

Shave. Rugs are expensive and there are lots of really neat hats around...

The only time I was ever hit on by a strange woman on the street was after I shaved my head completely. I still can't figure that one out. It seems that shaving your head completely is seen by some women as a bad*ss, rebellious and super masculine move.
It does take balls to walk into your workplace with a shaved head but there are perks for the intrepid...

A lot of men are bald now. Too bad for tie domi, not a great look for him with that melon. I would say most women don't care, but that's coming from a bald man. Under no circumstances should anyone ever wear a piece.

Blacks look considerably better shaved. Ever notice Indian people never seem to shave their heads, even when thinning.

I shave since Im balding.

I have thought about hair transplants but I also thought why would I want to get one. my rational was to attract. while some may suggest its to boost confidence I would still bring it back to attracting. who am I trying to attract, a bigger pool of women to choose from.

I have the money kicking around to do it but it seems like such a waste of money when I can use it in better ways and get a better roi then picking up tail.

in a nut shell people dont get hair transplants for themselves, its for acceptance of others. to fit in and to attract.

If I ever start to go bald, I'm just shaving my head and getting it over with.

And not a trace of bitterness.
Yep, none at all. Absolutely 0.
Wish I started shaving the dome earlier.

Well didn't you misread the situation in your rush to sarcasm.

Also if you are an adult who takes your lifestyle cures from performing circus monkeys in Hollywood or the music industry, your opinion on anything and everything has no worth or value.
