So I read that a shark couldn't survive in a Lake Ontario as the water is too cold? Then how can a great white be spotted off the coast of New Brunswick? I'm sure the Atlantic Ocean is colder than LO!

I think its the salinity and not the temperature. Not many salt water fish can adjust to fresh water. Salmon can do it but they have to hang around the salt water-fresh water interface for a few weeks while they adjust.
