Was checking things for connections issues, switch boxes etc. Basically the end part, where you spin and lock the cable in place broke off. Anyway to fix this without a technician?

Pretty much any electronic parts store sells the cable end connectors. The Source by Circuit City f'rinstance. Sharp knife and a pair of pliers are all any average person needs to reattach. BUT it's a bit tricky stripping the insulation off the wire propoerly, so interrogate the sales person, look for a diagram with the connectors or check the internet
Should take about ten minutes, less if you just take the nd that came off and shove it back on. Sometimes that's all you need.
The Source by Circuit City or Home Depot usually carry all the pieces you need with a variety of cable end types (crimping tool needed for one type, specialty tool needed for another type, and no tools required for a third type).
You can also purchase a twist on connector, rg6 connector , trim the cable to the recomended dimension, fold back the sheild over the cabel, twist on the connector.I wouldnt use it outdoors as its not weathertite, but indoors should be OK
You can try a twist on end. If you start to have reception issues then you will have to buy a stripper, crimper and RG6 ends. All can be bought at Sayal for not much money. I have found the twist on ends not really reliable. If you move the cables around they tend to become loose.
Buy a couple of extra RG6 ENDS and practise a couple of times. That's about all it takes. It is a handy tool to have around. No more bunching up extra cable because you cut and crimp to the proper length.
