"...Hilary Holiday, a Minneapolis escort, says she covered her face in photos when she began sex work in the early 2000s. Then, about six years ago, jealous competitors began posting in online escort forums that she must be hiding her face because she was hideous, so Holiday posted photos to prove them wrong. “My income like doubled when I showed my face, so I kind of got addicted to showing,” she tells Newsweek, claiming that her annual earnings spiked from $150,000 to $300,000. (She doesn’t see smokers or men under 35.)

Holiday, 48, warns new sex workers that covering their face in online photos doesn’t guarantee their protection or privacy. “You’re probably eventually going to get outed, so you should really be comfortable with it,” she says."

Of course this is true. I'd rather see someone whose face I can see. However, this only works if the face is above average or at least average. She has an average face, so men are still more likely to see her. It's better than an unknown. Her body seems to be pretty nice too.

$300,000 a year is $25,000 a month. Let's say she charges $300 a date, then that's about 80 dates a month, 20 a week, and assuming she works five days a week, 4 dates a day. That's actually pretty realistic.

I wonder how many sps make 300k a year.

Makes sense. People know what the expect.

She looks much younger than 48.

She actually charges $400/hr, and $100/hr more after 6pm.

Good for her.

It's simple. Guys want to know what they are getting themselves into and if you can see the whole package, you feel more assured that you won't be throwing your money away on a woman you are not attracted to.

At the same time, I get why women in the industry would NOT want to show their face.

I posted this commentary years ago.

Kinda got shut down with the .......'how dare you insist on a face pic comment'

I was NEVER insisting....just making the point men are visual...and the face will feed that attraction.

just because the numbers look like that on paper doesn't mean they come out that way in real life.

I'll say that almost none make $300k a year.

And your numbers are not anywhere near realistic.

4 dates a day, even at an hour per date with an hour between dates is an eight hour day right there. Add in some time to reply to inquiries, schedule clients, promote yourself, marketing, ads, having a shit, eating, buying groceries and you are looking at a long day.

And you don't account at all for being sick, menstruation, cancellations etc etc.

Thank you!

It always boggles my mind as to why some people always insist on breaking down an SP's income by hourly appointments over a weekly 5 day period (being a companion/escort is not like a regular 9-5 job schedule wise). Dinner dates, overnights, weekend getaways and longer trips are much more common than one might think. Not every SP bases their business on 1hour volume appointments.

no one was starting to break it down...it was the SP who had said she was near 300k..... And curiosity forced the poster to figure out how busy she was

Maybe she is pulling a publicity stunt. Just like some people go on Shark Tank and Dragon's Den mainly for the publicity and exposure, this lady is trying to boost publicity in her sunset years.
