Setting up Ebay to sell things

So I haven't done this and my cousin and I have a few things we want to part with.
When setting up the account, I'm assuming that we need to do our due diligence in finding out shipping costs to the U.S. but since it's a big country, how do we go about this?
Do we go to UPS with the item, choose the furthest location in the U.S. and then stipulate on the page that shipping will vary depending on where you live, your area code?
Or is there something more simplistic that will cover the entire USA and save us the hassle of "guessing" shipping fees?

eBay does it all for you. Just put the package dimensions and weight on the listing page, select the regions you want to ship to and they do the rest.

Please be warned, eBay fees are totally ridiculous and prepare to be disappointed after your sale.

So they don't give you the buyer's address so you can send it yourself?
