Not in the real world, if you look at mobile web usage:

Smartphone share would swap the iOS and Android shares, Windows and BB10 are irrelevant.
is this up to date? Can't believe Android still hasn't caught up th iOS. I thought Safari on iPhone was a bitch to use compared to my HTC one internet browser.

It's 6 months old so I'm sure Android's share has increased but not dramatically.... BB and Windows, still irrelevant..

in one word yes - sony ultra, htc one, lg g2, nexus 4 (and upcoming 5), etc etc... way better than the BB!

I don't really care which Mobile OS has the greatest market share, that's not how I shop for a phone or anything else. I'm looking for one that has the most features/functions that make sense to me. If the iPhone had upgradeable memory, a replaceable battery and an HDMI port I'd seriously think of getting one. The iPhone 9 will probably have these features if they continue to lose market share to androids. :)

I know, pretty sad eh? lol... But seriously, I know iOS has upwards of a million apps but how many can one really use? So many are just toys. Maybe if I was 20 yes, but I can get by without having hundreds of apps. iPhone user make such a big deal out of them.
That's like saying people who buy Windows PC's because of the software options are being silly. The selection of apps has made my iOS and Android devices more valuable to me. I don't have to download them all but the larger the selection of apps, the greater the chance I'll find something useful to me.

Each platform has their strengths and weaknesses. Each buyer needs to make a decision after careful deliberation on which device is right for them.

The z10 is great. I have one. However.... one issue that bugs me is that the speedy browser is quite rudimentary. u can't organize your favourites the way u want and u can't save specific pages for future reference as easy as in ios safari or boat android browser. No banking apps. Hardly anyone's making apps now cause the future of the company is up in the air. I'd prefer an android personally. If BlackBerry had more success with its new product sales and apps were coming I'd say it's a great phone. But for whatever reason, lack of effective advertising or just being too slow to come out with their new phones no one's buying the new BlackBerry 's which puts their future in doubt.

I've had issues with reconciling my Gmail as well. I'll mark an item or my whole inbox as read on my Z10 and it's not recognized on my other devices until several hours later. However, if I read an email on my iPhone or Nexus device, all other devices recognize it right away. Also had issues in the past with sending emails from the Z10 where the BB will "forget" my SMTP password and I'll have to reenter it. Never had that problem with iOS or Android.

What does usage have to do with my opinion on which OS is superior? How often is the most used or common product the best?

And calling BB and Windows "irrelevant? kewl story bro. BB is not going anywhere, neither is MS. Things can change overnight, and Windows is not stuck to single proprietary models.

Also, newcomers to the game are still possible, such as Ubuntu and Firefox.

They pretty much are. For example, Google hasn't bothered to put out a YouTube app for either. Instagram, too. Many SV startups skip past BB/WP for iOS and Android.

How many people have you seen in public using a Windows Phone or BB? Then compare that number against iOS and Android devices. Irrelevant, indeed.

Actually, Google straight up blocked MS:

I'm starting to dislike Google more and more these days, especially with the way they are dishonest about their stuff being "open source",

Not that long ago, hardly anyone used Android. Before iOS Symbian was the shit. BB and Windows have been in the market before iOS and Symbian. Things can and will change.

Market share has nothing to do with quality. Hasn't Justin Bieber sold like 20 million albums? Apple relies on fashion whores who have to have the latest shitty release from them to feel cool. If you have an iphone, an ipad mini, an ipad, and a macbook, you're a fucking moron. Apple products are the least customizable on the market, and Steve Jobs was an overrated douche. I have used Android but I love the Z10 from using a friend's and will buy it soon

To original poster. Do yourself a favor and do a Google search of BlackBerry news. The shareholders r trying desperately to sell the company and it may mean it's broken into pieces with the hardware division being dissolved or shut down.
I'm really sorry I bought one.

Yeah. And they fired most of their sales staff recently. Writing is on the wall.... but if BB is no more shortly, I'll put my Z10 next to my Pre and Pre 2.

Everyone I know who went from an older Blackberry to a Z10 really liked it, once they got used to the new way of doing things.

That being said, bear in mind that the phone has no long term future. Blackberry will go the way or Nortel: diced up and picked over for patents. If that doesn't bother you at all, then enjoy the phone. I'm a firm believer in buying the device that does what YOU need it to. Technology is a means, not an end.

It doesn't have anything to do with which OS is superior - but that's not what makes buying a blackberry "stupid" - would you buy a betamax player in the 80s even though it was better than VHS, how about HD DVD vs Blue Ray? Ecosystems, support, scale matter - that's all. In that measure, outside of the GWN and a few developing countries Blackberry is irrelevant.
