Ottawa Senators general manager Pierre Dorion parted ways with the club on Wednesday after the team was docked a first-round draft pick for its role in an invalidated trade involving Evgenii Dadonov, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reports.

It was a good guess even though the big warning sign for Dorion was once the new owner came in and brought in Staois immediately as an associate exec.

Firing the coach and making them the scapegoat, us the way Sens usually have done thing in the era of Bryan Murray / and his assistant then predecessor Pierre Dorion. The GM sticks when there is adversity and the coach leaves.
